Black with a dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted rather bitter finish. 260511 Koelschtrinker (20424) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 29, 2011
Intensives Erlebnis! 9/13/8/13//13

Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Black beer with a lasting brown head. Figs aroma, raisins, alcohol, chocolate, licorice, cocoa and some wheat (?). Roasted fig flavor, spicy, hoppy, chocolate and tar, some smoke. Long bitter finish with alcohol and sweet fruits. harrisoni (18583) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 26, 2010
Happy 50th Birthday Fonefan!!. On tap at White Horse, Parsons Green. I have a feeling other people liked this more than me. I thought if anything it was just too big. Hot alcohol aroma. Lots of good choc, I mean thick Belgian choc. Maybe just a tad too intense and a too hot for me.

Tap. Black with dark brown head. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, little coffee, liquorice, hop and thick. yngwie (17056) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 30, 2010
On tap at KØ-10. It pours a more or less black body with just some dark brown notes around the edges. A brown head sits on top. The aroma is roasted and boozy, with chocolate and mocha, all well pronounced and integrated. That goes for the flavor too, there’s loads and loads of delicious flavors, mocha, chocolate, roasted malts and sweetness, and a nice boozy touch that deals with the sweetness. Roasted-bitter finish. Full-bodied, warming, sweet and dryish at the same time. A wonderfully complex beer, certainly one of my favorites from the festival. 100508 Dedollewaitor (16171) - Odense, DENMARK - JUN 2, 2011
Copenhagen Beer Festival, 2011. Pours black with a creamy beige head and lacings. Soy, roast, wood, salty liquorice and vanilla. Smooth and full bodied. Really nice. FatPhil (16112) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 18, 2010
Tap (White Horse, Parson’s Green, London)MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUL 14, 2010
7 Massively meaty beef stock aroma.
4 Black, tan ring head.
8 Rich roasty coffee taste, gently bitter from burntness, but not astringent.
4+ Ludicrously full palate, slick and smooth. Just a gentle hint of carbonation.
17 Covers the alcohol well, but you can tell it’s a big beer.
Draught at KØ10. Sweet vanilla aroma. Black colour. Small stable creamy brown head. The flavour is sweet and roasted with a distinct vanilla note. Sweet port notes, a little oxidised, but not bad at all.
