Clear orange beer, nice creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of citrus, grassy hops, bit soapy, fruity, some pineapple. MF: soft carbon, light to medium body, creamy texture. Taste: citrus fruits, some pineapple, bit sweet, little sugary, ripe summer fruits like peaches, etc. Aftertaste: bit unpleasant bitterness, some banana, citrus and grapefruit, still pretty sweet, bit chemical, paint.
Bottle at Hasselt Beer Festival, Hasselt, Limburg, Belgium 12.11.11 in company of Loz, Jackie, Simon and David. This is a fairly safe beer without much to excite I’m afraid. It pours light gold. It is soft on the tongue, a little spicy and yeasty but other than that I am struggling to find much else to describe. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1 JorisPPattyn (10061) - BELGIUM - SEP 24, 2011
Head reduced to white rim in seconds; clear golden beer. Garden herbs, bit grassy, demure (why are brewers so shy of a prominent, imposing nose?). Dull grainy flavour; again a bit herbal, but finish is pure pale malts sweetness. Spritzy, light to medium bodied. Disappointing. Let’s hope the beer, when brewed at their own installation, will turn out better than this one, still brewed at De Proef (surprise, surprise). AND USE YOUR HOPS, fer chrissakes!
