Post Borefts Tasting, Tulip Hotel Room 118. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Airy dry palate. Sourish dark malts, sour lactose or something. Little tangy coffee. Light dry finish. Don’t like the off milky flavour here.

Bottle at the Room 118 tasting, Tulip Hotel Bodegraven, post BBF 6 day 1 26/09/14 thanks to whomever shared this one. Light black with a moderate tan covering. Nose is earthy, roast malt, light smoked. Taste comprises dark fruit rinds, spice, touch of lactics, leather. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so - doesn’t do the ABV justice.

(Tap at De Prael Proeflokaal, Amsterdam as Hijs’M oatmeal stout) Very dark brown, opaque, with a ring head on top. Roasted and maple aroma, with a bit of dark chocolate. Some maple in the mouth also, along with dark bread.
Fairly soft in the mouth, and I’d have given this a 4 for palate, but I’d have liked a slightly fuller feel from the oatmeal.
This gets a little sweeter as the glass empties, but it’s still not too sweet at the bottom. Not at all bad.
Unusually, Phil did not share this.

Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus, Joes and Martinus @ weekly tasting. Opaque black color, medium sized brown head that lasts for a decent while. Smell malts, sweetness, liquorice. Taste malts, liquorice, sweet and again liquorice. Oily texture, medium body, suitable carbonation. Nice!

Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear dark brown with a big beige head. Aroma of fudge, light chocolate, caramel and sweet malt. Flavour I’d moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

bierkoning (13813) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - MAY 14, 2014
Bottle. Almost black and opague. Grainy roasty cvreamy aroma. Cream, rye bread, some sour milky notes and chocolate cake in the flavor. Easy drinker, sweet, quite likeable.

sebletitje (10494) - Enghien, BELGIUM - SEP 25, 2016
Sample @ Stadsbrouwhuis, Leiden.

Tap at the Jopenkerk. Poured a clear dark brown with a big frothy tan head. The aroma is light roasted malt, caramel, toffee. The flavour is medium bitter, light sweet with a smooth, light fruit, alcohol liqourice bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Media bodied with average carbonation. It’s a fine beer but I expected a little more creamy caramel milky smoothness and less of the alcohol inspired bitterness which is starting to dominate.
