lightbrown head, brown and hazy of color. sour aroma -oakwood? Bitter at taste/sour, hints of nuts..

TBone (17793) - Pori, FINLAND - OCT 8, 2006
Bottled 0.75 ltr (BB 01/2007). Hazy very dark nut brown color, good off-white head. Nose has some sour notes, dark fruits and hazelnut. Sticky mouthfeel, sugary sweetness - thanks to added sugar. Flavor has some spices, nuts (maybe from chocolate malts) and plums. Warming and full. Propably evolves with time.

Sofajoern (146) - DENMARK - APR 9, 2006
This could well pass for a flandern sour ale (although below par). Lots of sourness in this one along with some nuts and even a bit of sweetness. I’ll rate it slightly high just for "unusualness".

3.3
jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - JAN 31, 2006
Bottled. Aroma of yeast, raisin, spices and a hint of plastic. Hazy, red color, small beige head, good lace. Plum, prune, raisin, pretty sweet, rather bitter, lots of hops, spices. Full, sticky, warming. A very nice beer, not complex, a bit one dimensional. Maybe it matures well? Luckily I have a bottle from 2002 as well. I’ll try that later.

bierkoning (13451) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JAN 27, 2006
Caramel aroma and flavor. Cake dough. Hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. Rather onedimensional beer, sweet but pleasant.

4.2
Hunsell (403) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 20, 2005
Bought a bottle at this sympathetic brewery. They told me that this is a Quadrupel-style beer. I didn’t quite know what to expect but it was pretty good. Very nice darkbrown appearance, lasting and creamy head. Dark fruits are well represented in this brew. This certainly had character. And quality. Strong mouthfeel, bit alcoholic palate. Didn’t bother me at all. Excellent brew!

William (202) - Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - DEC 7, 2003
Pretty sweet tasting ale. Malty and yeasty. Did not produce a head at all. Was a bit disappointed.

jerohen (2334) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - FEB 28, 2003
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2003 Dark brown, lasting head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Sweet taste with bitter and alcoholic finish.

skortila (5967) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - FEB 28, 2003
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2009 Beautifull appearance; Dark brown coloured, thick creamy head. Sweet, malty aroma, some spices. Taste is sweet too, spices and malts, bit earthy perhaps. Palate is a little alcoholic.
Original a 3.4. But it isn’t that good.

3.6
caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - FEB 27, 2003
Dark brown/black color, with a thick creamy head. Aroma is full and sweet chocolate malty, but not very complex. Sweet taste, chocolate malty. Bit dry and sharp alcoholic palate.
