Light straw body, little head. Some notes of banana and clove; like a toned-down tripel with more hoppiness. Finishes sweet and hoppy. Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - MAR 18, 2008
Good looking pour, a clear brassy body with a substantial, retained fluffy head. It has an aroma of wilting flowers, dull honey, swwet pale malt, and light stoned fruits. There’s a light citric tartness that’s added to the flavor, but it’s mainly quietly sweet and has the mentioned fruitiness balanced by a moderate floral bitterness. This makes for a relaxing, sessionable ale.bhensonb (15500) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 11, 2008

750 ml brown bottle at wine frig temperature. Rich aroma of light raisin, like golden sultana. Peach juice color with a fine, fluffy white head. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. The flavor is an odd combination of fruits and spice. Started with a touch of grapefruit, but that passed on to something like mild spiced peach. Light caramel malt. The finish is a bit bland and dry compared to the start, and has some bitter. Each sip is a spurt of Belgian flavor, and then it goes bland. So keep on sipping. It’s a really good drink. July 2006 - Beer poured with decent head. Aroma was spicey and sweet, smelled like white grape juice. The flavor had a trippelesque backbone, but with a lot of lemony, citrusy like flavors, with also some medicinal undertones. Some other fruitiness (white grapes) were also present. I don’t know what else to say except is just wasn’t good. It was much more palatable as it warmed, but barely drinkable. FlacoAlto (4213) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - DEC 26, 2007
Sits in my glass with a brilliantly clear, amber-hued, full gold color. It is topped by a frothy, structured, initially two-finger thick, light tan colored head that is held up by a persistent, ample carbonation. Aromas of concentrated, sweet, pale malts, honey with richly concentrated wild flower aromatics, crushed soda crackers and grassy grain. It is surprising how malt focused the aroma is, it is almost over the top despite derivation from pale malt.

A bit drier than I was expecting, based on the aroma, but it does have a nice, soft pale grain sweetness to it. It is well carbonated, but still has a soft creamy mouthfeel to it. Lightly astringent, wildflower / weed like flavors, combine with honey malt notes and a sharp herbal hop flavor and bitterness in the finish. Somehow the malt character seems quite dusty at times, perhaps a touch oxidized. A touch of orange zest, hints of white pepper and some clove notes provide some spice character to the brew.
This tastes a bit strange at times, it is perhaps a bit too rich and thick, especially for its strength. And the malt tastes a bit tired and flabby at times.

pour is a semi-hazy golden orange with a medium size off-white fluffy head, and good lacing.
smell is faint, wheat, citrus, fruit, little bit of spice, and some malt.
taste has lots of carbonation, yeast, apple, pear, peaches, citrus, a little banana, some spice, and some pepper, ends a little dry. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - DEC 1, 2007
Pale gold, very nice head. Aroma is slightly spicy with a good bit of cut hay and some sweet malts. Flavor is a match. Nothing wrong per se with this beer, but I just couldn’t get into it for some reason. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 25, 2007
750 from Total Wine, Durham. Nice looking blonde, with a big body, slightly cloudy golden color, and a lasting head. Strong yeasty notes in the nose, which is promising. The initial tastes are very bright and floral, with a nice dry finish. But the further you get into the brew, a not-so-hot combo of buttery and sour (in the aftertaste) emerges. Not a bad blonde, but not up to De Proef’s usual high standards. hopscotch (11175) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 20, 2007
Bottle... Hazy golden ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Good retention. Fruity, yeasty nose with notes of biscuit, apricot and mandarin orange with hints of coriander and pepper. Sweet, biscuity, fruity flavor with tasty, woodsy-aged hops and restrained bitterness provided by the alcohol or yeast. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Sweet, breadsy finish. smartlung (159) - Valrico, Florida, USA - OCT 16, 2007
pretty typical Belgian White - always very drinkable but not the best in class. My brother really liked it
