COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brian OReilly of Sly Fox Brewing Company joins Dirk Naudts to create the fifth brew in the De Proef Brewmasters Collaboration series. This years collaboration celebrates the great brewing cultures of both Philadelphia and Gent.

Broederlijke Liefde (Brotherly Love) is a slightly higher gravity interpretation of the saison style. It is fermented with two yeasts a classic saison yeast as well as brettanomyces from an original gravity of 1066 (16.5 plato). These yeasts yield a dry and slightly spicy ale with a strong hint of farmhouse character that will continue to develop with age. The use of Target and Styrian Golding hops at 37 IBUs add floral aromatics and a balancing bitterness.

Broederlijke Liefde if the official Belgian collaboration ale of Philly Beer Week 2011. If you cant join us in Philadelphia for our annual celebration in June please enjoy this creation in your own celebration of the international brewing community.

Hazy golden orange pour with a white head. Nose is sweet tropical fruit, melon, and a subtle citric tartness. Some sweet sugar and malt notes with a light floral hoppiness. The flavor is mildly tart which works well with the sweetness and fruit character. Lots of tropical fruit and melon notes, citrus, and peach. Very nice.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe in Davis, CA. Pours orange gold with a 4 finger creamy white head. Aromas of light stone fruits and barnyard. The barnyard/brett wafted to my nose from a foot away. Med body. Its tangy. Its fruity. Its earthy - really barnyard. Finishes with downright farmyard. Id a sworn it was a Vinnie creation. Its brilliant.

Bottle. Poured a clear yellow color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate herbs, citrus hop and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet & sour flavor with a medium to heavy spicy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. I would recommend this to a friend.
