3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted on 3/4/13 from a synthetic corked and caged bottle purchased at Lush quite a while ago. Pours murky burnt orange with a thin off-white head that leaves a very thin collar of lace. The nose is really awesome, with some caramel malt, a nicely dusty, very dry and funky brett aroma, dried date and raisin, and a bit of cherry aroma. The flavor is very interesting, but not quite as pleasant as the nose, with the aged flavor very pronounced. The funky and dry brett dominate the beer with some old caramel malt and touch of fruity cherry on the back of the palate. The body is full with just lighter than average carbonation and a long, super dry and funky brett finish.
Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky brown color with a medium sized creamy off white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet with bread dough, honey, caramel, fig and vegetal malts. The flavor was sweetish, bitter, astringent, medicinal, perfumey, chalky and vegetal. Very long finish of rancid vegetable soup. Pretty disgusting. milewide (2332) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 22, 2017
Leans sweet like most Belgium ales. Pale brown and clear color. Solid head. On closeout. Retailer says big bottles are losing compared to cans. 50belair (3700) - Florida, USA - DEC 5, 2016
On tap at the Specialty Beer Store. Clear yellow pour with a white head. Clove, spice, banana bouquet. Really sweet with Belgian Candy highlights. Syrupy with banana and clove. PhillyCraft (8200) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 3, 2016
BB backlog, Bottle shared, pours amber golden with a pretty sizable head and decent lacing. Nose is brett, light stone fruit, plum, flowers, and leather. Flavor is just as impressive with more belgian yeast/fruit, pepper, earth, citrus and dust. Glad I got to try this Abbey collab beer. rodenbach99 (4678) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 3, 2016

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2016 Draft. Pours a dark orange with white head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is of apricots, banana, and peach. Light malty aroma. Taste is more of the same, but with that signature Belgian flavor from the yeast. Reminds me of a fantastic tripel with added flavors. Palate is medium body, good heft. Some moderate carbonation. Not too heavy nor too light. Overall very impressed with this beer. trapped (3786) - New York, TURKEY - APR 12, 2016
Draught @ Albion. Faintly cloudy golden yellow with off-white foamy head, vanilla like aroma with some tropical fruit, medium carbonation, thick body, slightly salty taste with a bitter finish. Very satisfying brew. Minderbinder (3469) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - APR 2, 2016
Pours brown with low white head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is of caramel, fruits. Taste is of caramel, fruits, malt. Palate: Full bodied. Soft carbonation. Overall: Good, malty. Not re-inventing the wheel. kaser (6430) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 18, 2016
Golden pour with white head. Had this as part of a flight at Half Acre. Bubblegum and sugar, mild tartness and very fruity. Very good. tom10101 (6297) - Quebec, CANADA - MAR 11, 2016
Bottle (750 ml) at tasting. Clear amber with a small bubbly white head leaving little lacing. Aroma is quite yeasty with raisins, spiciness, alcohol, cardboard and rotten notes. Taste isn’t much sweet, there’s moderate spiciness, a bit of alcohol heat, lots of fruity yeast and oxidation notes. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Fruity and a bit spicy finish. Not the kind of BSA I like, lack depth and not a clean profile enough.
