DocJitsu (2079) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - OCT 8, 2016
Pours a partially clear classic golden with a perpetual off-white head. Tart apple and slightly earthy nose. Heavy mouthfeel. Tart taste, but not aggressively.

Tap at Toronado Seattle.

To my delight they had both this and #3 on tap at Toronado, which necessitated a visit. I started with this one, and what a delight. Light brown-orange pour in my snifter, slightly murky, limited head. Wonderful funky aroma, first sip bringing a bit of a sour hit but nothing overpowering and very easy for the palate to acclimate. The light-ish but still distinctive funk was the centerpiece and it was splendid. What a lovely beer. A bit older than #3 and perhaps that helped, but this was by far the better of the two (and better than #1 as well, given my notes). First-rate gueuze.

On tap at Specialty Beer Cellar. Hazy deep orange. Smells of oak, fruity yeast and bananas, moderate vinegar. Tastes a little bit vinegary and very oaky. Kinda malty in the middle. Green apple tartness in the finish. Medium body. Moderate sourness. Nice.

Red gold. Aroma lemons cinder blocks. Tastes cheesy lemons fruity dry hops. Plenty of umami. Hits those great sour notes a bit simple though.

Tap at Busters. Clear golden orange pour with a white spotty head. Sharp vinegar, some cheese, some funk. Really nice.

Nice big sour beer that has a good yeasty propfile and a decent alcohol percentage for the style. Enjoyable.

A pretty decent sour, the tartness hit you right in the jowels. No holds barred sour flavor with a vinegary aroma. Tried at Krug Park with Jess in 2015.

deyholla (12663) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 26, 2015
Sampled from the tap at Winking Lizard. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has has a nice tart fruit note with a light grain and funk note. Flavor has a decent amount of acid with tart fruits, a light dryness and some earthiness underlying.

On tap @ Original Gravity. Hazed golden-orange colored beer with white foam. Woah, really funky. Blue cheese, mushroom, and a damp wood character. Some apple cider vinegar, green grapes, and a bit of citrus as well. Fairly sour and definitely more acetic than I’d like, but the funk and fruit character do help out a lot. Hints of peach and apricot, perhaps?

arminjewell (9744) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 11, 2015
Pour on tap at Crunchy’s, slightly hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of funk, oak, cheese, lemon, acetic, hints of stone fruits. Taste was a mix of funky cheese, basement, dusty, earthy notes into some slight apricot, peach, some lemon, finishing fairly funky, earthy, slightly tart. Nice.
