COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kriek de Rank is real Belgian sour ale fermented with cherries and then blended with real lambic. It is unfiltered and unpasterized. The de Rank brewery was founded by two good friends; Nino Bacelle & Guido Devose. To them, brewing is a weekend hobby, not an occupation. For a few hours every week they make small batches of what many consider the best specialty beers. Their beers are robust and flavorful. They use the best Hallertau and brewer’s Gold varieties of hops.

Best by 12.08.20. 750ml bottle from private import. Aroma: intense cherry, raspberries and other berries, funky barnyard, light vinegar, peppery. App: dark pink, minimal pink head, no retention. Taste and palate: light body, soft carbonation, tart moderate high acidity extremely dry finish. Overall: well this is quite acid and dry when too warm but way more accessible when colder. I love it love all the De Ranke I’ve had in the past. Everything this brewery makes is pretty awesome and their price are pretty good as well even in private import. Guess I’ll need to buy some more.

750ml bottle from Systembolaget, vintage 2015. Hazy dark ruby-red, medium size, white-pink head that disappears quickly and completely without leaving lacing. Tart aroma with vinegar and fruity red wine, red berries, cherries, raspberries, strawberries, also oak barrels and woody notes. Mildly tart mouthfeel, soft and rounded. The taste follows the aroma, red berries and sour cherries, raspberry, oak barrels, grapes, minerals, yogurt, citrus zest and fresh lemon. Very pleasant.

Bottle from Tanakaya shared. Big oaky nose with some light tartness and vanilla notes. Slightly tart on the palate, but quite muted for a sour. The oak is awesome with loads of cherry, blackberry and lingonberry notes. Some light dry with a bit of bitter kick on the finish. Average carbonation and highly drinkable. Great introductory sour / funky beer especially for people new to the style or who aren’t big beer fans.

Thanks Adam. Pretty red pour with light pink foam head. Aromas of cherries with a light sour funk. Taste is sweet with a mild sour acidity. Good complexity.

Bottle. Pours a murky red with a fading pink bubbly head. Aroma of cherries, raspberries, spice, freshly cut grass, black currant, vinegar, hint of mint. Taste is of cherries, blackberries, mint tones underlying. Mint flavor seems to work surprisingly well. Oily, slightly sticky mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

Fajny funkowy aromat, jest skóra, limonka i agrest, do tego muśnięcie wiśni. Smak lekko kwaśny, w górnych granicach zakresu, spora wytrawność ale też nutka owocowej słodyczy na końcu. W smaku kwaśne wiśnie, skóra, trochę piwniczno-ziemistych klimatów, skórka cytryny i winogron. Posmak wytrawny, lekko taniczny. Bardzo fajne piwo.
