Bottle, 75cl. A lightly hazy candy-red beer with a pinkish white head of finger-thick size. Cherryish, lemony and lightly funky aroma. Barnyard, horse blanket and some cherry pits. It’s medium bodied, tart, yet lightly berry-sweet, smoothly carbonated and with a flavor dominated by sour cherries. Some candy notes, some cherry pits and a pleasant lemony, funky flavor. Cherry dominated finish. A very pleaseant beer indeed, but as expected it’s lacking some of the complexity found in the lambic krieks. Sort of refreshing and quenching still. 170604 Meilby (11366) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 4, 2017
Bottle 750ml @ yngwiedavidezdonz (487) - Hong Kong, HONG KONG - MAY 16, 2017
Pours clear red with a pink head. Aroma has notes of malt, funk, cherry and tartness. Taste is light to medium sweet, light bitter and light to medium sour with a long slightly dry, cherry, berry, funky and tart finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
A 750ml bottle with a best before date of 26th August 2021. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass. It was a very nice clear ruby red colour with a just under two finger pinkish head that dissipated fairly quickly while leaving only sparse lacing. Aromas were sour, tart, funky, vinegar, musty with only hints of cherry. Tastes tart and sour, lots of lemon, lemon zest, vinegar and funk with again only a hint of cherries. Medium to light bodied with moderate to light carbonation. Overall, this was ok but the Belgian Sour Ale felt like it overpowered everything else, such that there was hardly any cherry in either the aroma or taste, which was not so good for a Kriek type beer. rayaron (1785) - Kfar Saba, ISRAEL - MAY 15, 2017
Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels. Slightly hazy red with pinkish head. The aroma has notes of cherry, yogurt, wood and yeasts, acidic. Very sour flavor with notes of cherry yogurt, lemon, unripe fruits, dry. Soft carbonation. Medium to full-bodied. zvsn (2059) - ISRAEL - MAY 11, 2017
Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Hazy amber red with a huge white head. Aroma of cherries and Brett. Sour cherries, lemon, lactic and wood flavors. Medium-bodied, smooth. Tasty.

April 2017 - 75cl bottle at home in Richmond, as ’Kriek De Ranke’, 7%, bottled 8 months ago. Very dark ruby red / purple, translucent with a foamy light pink head, leaving light lacing. Aroma is very lambic-like, lemon juice, light peach, metallic, washing up liquid. Lovely, but not much cherry showing up here. Body is smooth and rounded with tingly to soft carbonation. Taste is a little peach, cherry, lemon juice, fresh tart berries, light acidity in the finish. Cherry character is light to start but builds. A small bottle would have been very enjoyable but the life leaves this one by the time you can finish a 75cl bottle by yourself. My rating is based on the first impression. Red colour and red small head, short retention and good lace. Aroma of cherries, a bit of barnyard, vanilla, lemon, finish of cherries. Medium body, acid but not too mouch, standard carbonation. Taste of cherries, vanilla, a bit of citrics. anstei (2169) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - APR 19, 2017
Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Pours hazy blood orange. Aroma is light sour cherry, wood, vinegar. Body is medium, fizzy carbonation, cherry stones, not as fruity or present as others. Tasty, but not a typical kriek, much more like a Lambic than others. Palate has some fruit and funk and sourness, but all not too dominant. Good. 90 (419) - BELGIUM - APR 6, 2017
Lichte cuberdon in aroma. De smaak is sprankelend en verfrissend. Mooi gematigd zuur met kriek. Zeer fijn. Hoprider (632) - DENMARK - APR 5, 2017
Pours a dark ruby colour with minimal pinkish head. Pretty dry and surprisingly bretty nose with light sour cherry influense. The taste is again fairly tart and dry and has the same sour cherries as the nose. Fairly mineral and tart aftertaste.
