COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kriek de Rank is real Belgian sour ale fermented with cherries and then blended with real lambic. It is unfiltered and unpasterized. The de Rank brewery was founded by two good friends; Nino Bacelle & Guido Devose. To them, brewing is a weekend hobby, not an occupation. For a few hours every week they make small batches of what many consider the best specialty beers. Their beers are robust and flavorful. They use the best Hallertau and brewers Gold varieties of hops.

Bottle from Whole Foods, poured into tumbler. Poured a hazy red bordering on pink with an effervescent pink head. Aroma is sour with funk, cherries, and a tiny bit of citrus. Flavor is similar, but with a mitigating sweetness that keeps the sourness from becoming too much to handle.

Pours a hazy brownish red on tap with bubbly pink head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of funky barnyard and sweet cherries with an overlying acidity. Taste follows, nice pleasant blend of sour fruit and funk. Acidity builds as you drink more, really nice.
