COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Unfiltered.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Candi-sugar; Yeast.
The heaviest ale on our menu with a very rich taste, coming from the six different kinds of malt we use. These malts also give it that rich, dark, nearly black colour. The royal doses of Challenger and Saaz hops bring the typical balance between sweet and bitter.

330ml brown bottle from beer shop in Marseille. Deep dark cloudy brown rather than noir (black). Sugar sweetness and yeast notes mark this as a Belgian beer. Some roasted malts evident, and a pleasant finishing hoppiness. A pleasant Belgian take on a stout, which leans toward what one expects from a Dubbel, but with more roastiness in evidence. A good drinkable beer that hides the alcohol in the sugar and the dark malts.

(From notes 16.11.12) Tap. Aroma very malty, sweet. Flavor is sweet, creamy, a bit burnt (like a stout). Great stuff.

Dark brown pour with frothy tan head. Aroma of malts, yeast, very fruity, and touch of hops. Taste of caramel, toffee, malts, yeast and a hint of marashino cherry. Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Slight hops on the finish. Very good beer.

pours cloudy dark root beer brown, huge foamy creamy head, good retention, sticky lacing. Thick heavy malts on the nose. Intense malty caramel 9/10-sweetness up front laced with alcohol, tastes of cola, root beer, bittersweet roast, finishing lingering bitter. Medium complexity, med-high depth, good carry, good transitions, decent drinkability. Drinks somewhat heavy, but full-bodied.

Deep red brown with medium tan head, not as dark as they would have you believe. Aroma unexciting but ok with malt and dark sugars. Medium body, slightly carbonated, not really any alcohol. Flavor is rich and malty, sweet up front, dried plums and raisins, toffee, nice dry european-style hop finish. Like it.

Bottle shared by Darrell. Thanks man! Brown hued with a towering tan head. Excellent retention and lacing. Aroma consists of malt with a pronounced Belgian yeast presence. Lots of yeast in the flavor, as well as some toffee, malt, and a delicate sweetness. Very tasty and drinkable. Smooth on the palate with minimal alcohol presence. Recommended. Black coloured beer with a small but steady beige head. In mouth, the taste is dominated by the coffee and the hops, vey well balanced. Great creamy texture. The only drawback is that maybe could result a little bit heavy, buy anyway, is a great beer which aspect cheats: much better in mouth than in nose (and in the eye).

Pours dark brown with a big, frothy head. Aroma of sweet malts, licorice, fruits and yeast. Taste is sweet; malty and fruity notes with licorice. Warming, but no alcohol in the taste. Rich and long. Hops do not appear, malts, licorice and sweet dark fruits dominate. Medium to full body, sticky, low carbonation. Very nice!
