Bottle: Unfiltered.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Candi-sugar; Yeast.
The heaviest ale on our menu with a very rich taste, coming from the six different kinds of malt we use. These malts also give it that rich, dark, nearly black colour. The royal doses of Challenger and Saaz hops bring the typical balance between sweet and bitter.

You can tell as soon as you smell this brew that it is going to be a very interesting experience. Aromas of toasted malt, yeast, caramel, and some dried fruits. Very complex mouth feel too. The balance on this beer is perfect not too sweet but not overly bitter. Just a really complex beer. Rich and robust.

Superbe amertume. Des arômes de caramel

I think this is the first "Belgian Stout" I’ve had and the style makes sense to me, a Belgian dark with roasted malt. The dark fruit here was really intense, the viscosity was a bit less than you’d expect from a 9% stout, I guess more like a dubbel, the finish was roast. Nice, but not as good as I was expecting.

Enjoyed on feb´13. Very dark amber in color, deep ruby to the light. Beige crown & copious lacing rings. Aroma profile shows Belgian yeast, candies, caramel & toasted malts, hints of alcohol & molasses, figs & spices, herbal notes – anise & cumin-, earthy hues & hay. Toasted malts with herbal notes at first sip. Medium to full body. Soft to moderate carbonation. Bitterness in the middle lightened by plum & sweet coffee hues. Gentle astringency. Dry bitter finish & slightly heat on the aftertaste. Worth to try!!

Very dark brown with a substantial beige head. No significant aromatics, even after it warmed a bit - just the faintest hint of dark fruit. The flavor was noticeably that of a plumb pudding. Overall a decent abbey dubbel - a stout it is not.

11.2oz bottle. Big foamy khaki head. Decent lace. Lightly roasty aroma. Milk chocolate. Mostly sweet taste. Big body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Kind of cloyingly sweet for me. Light on the roast in the flavor. Ok, but not my type of stout.
