COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fantastic Christmas beer, but one that defies the universal custom of a stronger, spicier beer for the holiday season. At 7% alcohol by volume, this one is relatively lighter in alcohol than the Guldenberg, and does not pack the hop punch of the XX. It combines some of the best elements of those other two beers – with a fine balance of malt and hops, complex character, a refreshing dryness, and a gorgeous cellar aroma – but is distinguished by its festive copper color. The 1999 Père Noël was a bit of a departure, with a very appealing yeasty tartness that was not readily discernible in earlier years.

Fatehunter (2640) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Three fingers of head on a cloudy, dark straw colored body. The aroma is barnyardish with some wet hay and grapefruit. Tough to really like. The taste is a mixture with a sourness throughout. There’s some lemon bitterness. A fairly crisp and light texture with a nice fizz. The mixed up flavor profile really set this back.

beersandbass (34) - Saint-Amand-Montrond, FRANCE - JAN 3, 2018

Textura oleosa y ligeramente chispeante. Seca.

Bottle @ DØE Køge. Appearance: pours clear golden with ok off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste notes: bread, barley, oranges, light apricot and grapefruit. palette: medium hoppy and light yeasty aroma, average carbonation, medium body, average sweetness, balanced by an average bitternessand light acidity, medium duration and a watery texture. Overall: Nice more hoppy approach on a Christmas ale

Bottle from de Caigny Dranken in Essen, Belgium. The beer is hazy and deep golden/copper colored and has a large broken white head, with good carbonation. The taste is medium to full bodied, light sweet and very yeasty with also notes of caramel, dried fruits and citrus and goes to bitter and dry with strong notes of fresh hops and spices. The finish is dry and bitter.

Carbonnation moyenne.
