COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison de Dottignies is a high-fermenting saison with a relatively low alcohol content which makes for a well-balanced beer.

Taste: Full of taste, but very drinkable. Heavily-hopped and thirst-quenching - typical of saison-styled beers.

Hops: Challenger, Brewers Gold, Hallertau Mittelfrüh, Styrian Golding

Bottle 33. Amertume moyenne. Bière désaltérante et bien agréable.

Poured from a small bottle. Large head which dissipates, leaving a small pillow on top. Dark golden, almost copper in coulour. Smells a bit yeasty and biscuity. Taste is hoppy, biscuity, little bit of spice not much sweetness or yeasty-ness for a saison, but still a touch of that Belgian yeast character. Quite bitter, thirst-quenching. A very good beer, not as complex as some others of its style but I would still get it again.

From Hofstetten; pale golden with big white head; aroma is yeasty and herbal hops; taste is gentle malty, herbal hops, spicy slightly bitter finish; texture is thin with medium to high carbonation and thin body

jesperhammer (4825) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 19, 2017
14-APR-2017, bottle @home, from Arne, Westmarket. Hazy orange with a huge, very lively, off-white head. Big bubbles, very noicy (!) but dies quickly. Aroma is yeast, spice, fruit, brett. Taste the same. More fruity though with fruity malt and orange peel, toast. Lively carbonation, dry. Nice.

Bottle. Cloudy ocre, smaller white head. Aroma typical Belgian yeast, some banana, cloves. Pleasantly smooth, rather full bread-like mouthfeel.

alteregoo (1605) - Kalisz, POLAND - MAR 28, 2017

In bocca ancora miele, buccia d’arancia e pepe. Amaro marcato dai toni erbacei. Corpo medio leggero con carbonazione spinta. Molto gradevole.

Zilverenmaan (241) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - MAR 13, 2017
Aroma and taste a combination of herbs and some fine, fruity hops. Taste rather delicate: not just an abundance of citrus or grapefruit but well-balanced and complex. Aftertaste medium bitter and lingering.

nihtila (3729) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 11, 2017
Bottle at home. Pours clear golden. Nose is herbal and hoppy bitter, citrus, yeast, faint fruits. Taste is fizzy, dryish, quite bitter, light spices and yeast. Dry and bitter saison. This may be typical traditional saison but it is not really what I enjoy.
