Saison de Dottignies is a high-fermenting saison with a relatively low alcohol content which makes for a well-balanced beer.

Taste: Full of taste, but very drinkable. Heavily-hopped and thirst-quenching - typical of saison-styled beers.

Hops: Challenger, Brewers Gold, Hallertau Mittelfrh, Styrian Golding

330 ml bottle from BG Birra, served in a tulip glass. Nice and bright sunrise orange, slightly hazy, with an average, creamy white head. Quite funky (cellar/basement/dusty) upfront, more so than other typical saisons, slightly grainy, fruit esters, light sugar and yeast notes. Peppery zing on the palate, nice herbal bitterness, dry and refreshing. A hint of floral and citrusy notes in the aftertaste. Zero sweetness. Average to lively carbonation, light to medium body and creamy texture. Very rustic, very pleasent.

In bocca ancora miele, buccia darancia e pepe. Amaro marcato dai toni erbacei. Corpo medio leggero con carbonazione spinta. Molto gradevole.

Aroma and taste a combination of herbs and some fine, fruity hops. Taste rather delicate: not just an abundance of citrus or grapefruit but well-balanced and complex. Aftertaste medium bitter and lingering.

Bottle at home. Pours clear golden. Nose is herbal and hoppy bitter, citrus, yeast, faint fruits. Taste is fizzy, dryish, quite bitter, light spices and yeast. Dry and bitter saison. This may be typical traditional saison but it is not really what I enjoy.

750 ml bottle from Canada Craft Club. Pours a murky golden colour with modest-sized white head. Aroma is lemon, crab apple, grains and white pepper. Flavour is very lemony and fairly dry with graininess, a sort of peppery spiciness and some other fruitiness. Dry finish. Nice.

Crisp, refreshing, and quite hoppy for a saison. Strong bitterness, big lemon oil, and citrus zest aromas and flavours with some strong malted wheat. A great session saison, a great example of a free fleshing everyday Belgian style saison that everyone can enjoy, very well rounded and balanced.

Cloudy yellow colour. Aroma is yeast, spice, and lemon zest. Taste is citric with some lingering herbal notes. Super drinkable but not super exciting.
