COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison de Dottignies is a high-fermenting saison with a relatively low alcohol content which makes for a well-balanced beer.

Taste: Full of taste, but very drinkable. Heavily-hopped and thirst-quenching - typical of saison-styled beers.

Hops: Challenger, Brewers Gold, Hallertau Mittelfrüh, Styrian Golding

   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 5/5   OVERALL 12/20
PalCabral (162) - - MAY 19, 2013
Large bottle from systembolaget. Pours hazy light amber into the glass. The head is thick and frothy, indicating perhaps the use of wheat in the mash? The aroma is interesting, citrus and yeasty, not bad. The taste is unfortunately more bland or should I say one-dimensional. The hops take over and the softness in the palate cannot compensate for the lack of other flavors than prickly hoppiness. It’s a good representative for Saisons and effective in being giving more thirst. Unfortunately, the taste lacks some complexity and it is likely the chaser will be another beer altogether.

11.2oz bottle. Pours hazy amber with a medium white head, which dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is fruit cake, yeast, bread, spice, and some pear. Taste is sweet; yeast, fig, grass, bread, light spice, and a light honey-like maltiness. Some citrus just before the finish. Assertively bitter. Medium body. Lively but moderate carbonation. Crisp-ish mouthfeel.

Pretty much what you’d find in the dictionary entry for saison I reckon, no bells or whistles to be found. Pleasant mouthfeel and body not to low to be unenjoyable

Yeasty aroma and rich orange color. Light, carby bod. Sweet and yeasty taste with only a hint of funk in the background. Not very complex or interesting, but drinkable.

Bottle 33. Orange à mousse blanche laissant de fines dentelles. Nez : sur les céréales, les houblons, biscuit, soupçon de citron. Bouche : fraîche, vive, pain, levure, saveurs de pain et de citron. Amertume moyenne. Bière désaltérante et bien agréable.

Poured from a small bottle. Large head which dissipates, leaving a small pillow on top. Dark golden, almost copper in coulour. Smells a bit yeasty and biscuity. Taste is hoppy, biscuity, little bit of spice not much sweetness or yeasty-ness for a saison, but still a touch of that Belgian yeast character. Quite bitter, thirst-quenching. A very good beer, not as complex as some others of its style but I would still get it again.

From Hofstetten; pale golden with big white head; aroma is yeasty and herbal hops; taste is gentle malty, herbal hops, spicy slightly bitter finish; texture is thin with medium to high carbonation and thin body

jesperhammer (4736) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 19, 2017
14-APR-2017, bottle @home, from Arne, Westmarket. Hazy orange with a huge, very lively, off-white head. Big bubbles, very noicy (!) but dies quickly. Aroma is yeast, spice, fruit, brett. Taste the same. More fruity though with fruity malt and orange peel, toast. Lively carbonation, dry. Nice.

Serapac (491) - CZECH REPUBLIC - APR 1, 2017
Bottle. Cloudy ocre, smaller white head. Aroma typical Belgian yeast, some banana, cloves. Pleasantly smooth, rather full bread-like mouthfeel.
