Slightly hazy orange-golden color, small white head. Sweet jammy apricot aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweetish apricot-mango fruityness, yeast, some white pepper in the finish. Not so different than De Ryck Arend Tripel. Suprisingly not very spicey or herbal.
Bottle by A13, intrigued by the ingredients listing. Nose is sweet with typical Belgian yeast with sweet floral notes. Clear golden body with moderate carbonation and a rocky off-white head. Taste is sweet at first but dries out, a little booze showing and warming, pancake syrup residual follows the very woody mid-body that is heavy on the woodruff and sticky-bitter herbal spirit (that’s the angelica), definitely gives the impression of a shot each of hazelnut and Waldmeister liqueur dropped into a blonde ale. Honey and orange peel are secondary with a faint dusting of hops at the end of the thick, fullish body. An interesting idea and an unusual sipper, guys are to be commended. downender (9003) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 9, 2012
Bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Amber with moderate carbonation but no head. Light, honeyed aroma. Some spicy, citrus flavours, a hint of spice and gently bitter finish. Ok.
