Erasmus_ro (2905) - Alabama, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Bottle. Pours an auburny orange, lightly hale, with a yellowish-brown, stylish head. Aroma is Belgian fruitiness, apple, light marzipan, light caramel and resin. Taste is sweet with loads of caramel, some pine, light fruitiness and yeast in there as well. Light banana and marzipan in the beginning. A bit too sweet for me. Palate is full and somewhat carbonated. Too sweet for me, but at least the alcohol is well hidden.

Plovmand (8266) - Helsinge, DENMARK - SEP 27, 2012
Bottle at home. Traded via Borresteijn. Cheers man! Pours bit hazy amber with a creamy beige head. The aroma is lots of sweet malt, light yeast and spices and toasted malt. The flavour is very sweet and has a long sweet juicy prune like substanse. Notes of toasted malt, sweet caramel and ripe fruit. Seems more like a Belgian Strong ale than a barley wine.

MiP (15650) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 4, 2011
Bottle, 11%. The first whiff of the aroma is of chocolate. Then there is a sweet and fruity note with a bit of sour rag. Cloudy red copper colour. Very big stable rocky off-white head. The flavour is very sweet and fruity with a little sourness. Syrupy mouthfeel, a bit too much. Peppery aftertaste, but does not taste 11%. Perhaps better after a few years in the cellar.

A Quad. Pours Orangish brown with little head. Significant yeast remains at the bottom of the pour. Brown sugar sweetness with an alocoholic finish. Mouthfeel is smooth but leaves the drinker thirsty.

PotjeBier (3213) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 23, 2011
Cask @ In de Wildeman (Feb. 2011). Copper colored, hazy. Foamy head. Aroma: sweet fruit (apricot, pear), quite boozy (cognac?). Flavor is sweet, fruity. Pretty strong alcoholfeel and full body. Flavor lingers on, but no new flavor.

altonbrownd (5898) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - OCT 17, 2011
Bottle from Bierkoning. Dark clear amber body with puffy, foamy head. Nose of sweet barley, citrus and fruits. Taste of fruits also, malts, citrus. Nice bitter and sweet finish. Enjoyable but a tad too sweet for me.

joergen (27983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 24, 2011
Bottle at De Wildeman. Hazy red brown coloured with a small off-white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel, dried fruits and overriped fruits with notes of ascorbic acid. Fruity flavour of caramel and dried fruits with notes of bread and spices. Fruity finish.

33 cL bottle at Wildeman. Pours hazy amber to brown with a small tan head. Aroma is citric and fruity. Dense malty, fruity, yeasty and overripe fruity. Bitter, light acidic and roasted malty. Bitter and acidic. Yeasty and fruity into a dry and mild acidic finish.

3.4
deanso (10070) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - SEP 22, 2011
33cl bottle from ABCBeers. Creamy white head. Clear amber pour. Sweet but pretty good. Alcohol very well hidden. A nice beer

3.1
kermis (12869) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 21, 2011
Bottle at De Wildeman. Pours cloudy brown with medium tan head. Aroma is citrus, grass and sour funkiness. Flavour has a certain sourness but combined with the kind of sweetness you would get from a strong aged beer.
