Tap. Clear dark brown with a foamy tan head. Smells of burnt wiod, funk, tart black berries. Flavor is sweet and sour black berries with some malt on the end. Light to medium bodied.
On tap at De Steeg, 6/2013. Pours dark red. Tart aroma. Sour cherries. Rich and malty with a tart and sharp sour bite on the backend. I’m not sure that was intended but it gives the beer a nice balance and drinkability and buts into the sweetness. Interesting. notalush (5883) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - SEP 21, 2013
Cloudy amber - nose is of raisin, toffee, a bit of plum, light tartness - flavor is medium sweet up front, raisin, toffee, grape skins - strong, sharp, semi-sour acidity late that is rather off-putting - like they dumped a bunch of malic acid in a sweet belgian ale - meh.
