Drank 13-07-17 with Koen & Cat (thanks for sharing!). The soury aspect of the beer was a bit too shart for me in this one. Not so fruity, compared to Oud Beersel & 3 Fonteinen oude kriek.

sjogro (4348) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - JUN 25, 2017
Bottle at home. Hazy dark red almost purple, short lasting and completely disappearing pink head. Sour cherries, cooked cherry deep earthy and fruity sweet notes, light barnyard funk, some hay or grassiness, slight moldiness, thin layer of cellar dust. Moderate sweet and sour, dry earthy bitterness. Medium body, low carbonation. Nice.

pivnizub (10726) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2017
Bouteille (vintage 2014): Ruby-amber coloured with a slowly collapsing pinkish head, hazy; moderate to solid dry sour nose of green apples and cherries with an - expected - almondy touch; moderate to solid dry sour flavour with a certain bitterness underneath, light to medium bodied, slightly adstringent MF, but all in all soft; lingering sour cellary and fruity finish with flavours of apples and - quelle surprise - cherries. Pretty good...

hopscotch (11170) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 26, 2017
Bottle... Pours murky and blood-red with a small, fleeting, pink head. The aroma is a swirl of sweet cherries, breadiness, acidity and funkiness. Full-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and faint carbonation. The flavor is nearly a mirror image of the aroma - sour, fruity and bready. Very nice. Bottle courtesy of newcigarz!

CanIHave4Beers (4194) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - MAR 8, 2017
Bottle in the living room.
Pours a beautiful cherry red color with pretty much no head at all.

The aroma is big on sour cherry with some nice rustic funk and a bit of lemon rind.

The flavor is fantastically complex, mildly bitter and nutty with lots of tart cherry flavor... there is a sort of dual cherry flavor happening here the schaarbeekse being very tart & bright while there is also a sweet almost lozenge like cherry flavor that’s less awesome, but it does provide an interesting balance. The beer is dry & has a bit of pleasant bitterness to it along with a lemony sourness throughout.

Pretty Good
