Bottle 330ml. @ [ Hotel Room tasting ] - Room #183, Woerden, Netherlands.
[ As De Twee Knaapjes 't Kofschip Barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout ].
Unclear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, roasted, burnt, dark fruit, sod, raisin, plum. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, dark malt, sod, roasted, dark fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.
Pours dark brown with a minimal brown head. Aroma is roasty malts, dark chocolate and something that I would call autumn-like. Liquor-like, but in a mild manner. Taste is chocolate, red wine, hazelnuts, wood and mild sugar. Finish is mildly sweet with dryish tones near the end. Medium bodied, oily texture. Not a great BA brew, but far from unpleasant as well. stupre (538) - Nanterre, FRANCE - OCT 18, 2017

Mooie zwarte kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt vol koffie, beetje peated, alcohol, gebrand. Smaakt vol, drop, zoetig, beetje plakkerig, alcohol, peated. Zlotta (4244) - Hagen, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2017
Sampled from 0.33 l bottle at Best Western Woerden. Black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Moderately sweet, malty and slightly roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla and some licorice. Moderately sweet, malty, rather roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice and some vanilla, followed by a long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, not so much barrel for me. Taste is roasted, coffee, chocolate, some grains, there is some wood, earthy, and nutty. Medium carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Nice enough.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 02-2022, 33cl sample. Dark color, short frothy quickly dying head. Aroma of roast and dark bread, red wine and raisins. Salty licorice in taste, peaty smoke, tannines, raisin. Dry tannine rich finish. Interesting beer. Not perfectly balanced, also a bit too dry and lacking some sweetness, but still not bad. madmitch76 (26850) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2017

Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is light and fairly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Dry dark malts and dark malt cream. Mild coffee. Estery bitterness. Spicy tangy finish, vague fruits. WIne barrel??
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Almost pitch black body with a brown head thats quickly gone.
Nose of roast, caramel, wood roast, prunes, spice, tobacco, raisin, lightly sharp...
Flavour is roasty, chalky and light coal with a sharp and thinner edge. A bit young I guess and hardly and barrel aging noticeable...
Aftertaste is light roasty, bit chalky and a hint of cacao...
Low carbo, light watery mouthfeel, medium bodied.
Please make sure your base beer has some soul, than age it, not for some weeks but for many months at a time...
It’s decent but could have been a lot better...
