Sparks fly when bold & beautiful tropical hops meet a brazen & daring roasted malt base. Their chemistry is undeniable and perfectly balances the hop flavours and aromas of a powerhouse IPA with the depth and intricacy of a complex dark ale.

The creator of the Fearless IPA and Commander Imperial Stout pulls no punches with his newest masterpiece. He’s brought your taste buds to their knees with monstrous Imperial IPAs and made them sing with cavernously deep Imperial Brown Ales. Now he brings you his greatest triumph!

Malts: Pale Ale, Cara 60, Biscuit, Chocolate, Carafa II, Special B, Roast Barley
Hops: Centennial, Columbus, Galaxy
First batch: February 2014

An astringent, hoppy, malt bomb. Hint of mace, cookies, vanilla, and anise. Dark brown with a one finger, creamy, light tan head. Toasted grains, pine and chocolate aromas.

reebtogi (6488) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 24, 2017
650ml bottle pours almost black in colour with a finger of off-white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aromas of roasted grains and chocolate with some pine and citrus notes. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a roasted grain, pine and citrus hop bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a brew that is definitely suited to the style. Recommended.

offwhite small creamy frothy head. fair lacing. mostly diminishing. black flat thick body. aroma: moderate hoppy, strawberry quik, olive, moderate malt, chocolate. initial flavor: moderate sweet (chocolate and malt). final flavor: heavy bitter (hoppy) and moderate sweet (strawberry quik). palate: oily texture, lively carbonation, medium body and metallic finish. Low drinkability. 50s

sulawang (1219) - - AUG 4, 2016
Visual: Pours obsidian black with a decent-sized 2cm lasting super foamy head, thick fine lacing, barely visible bubbles here and there.

Nose: a bit toasted malts (lvl-2)-pungency

Attack: almost slick-crisp, immediate hop presence

Mid-palate: background bittersweet roast, micro-tingly, sharp grapefruit bitter, (lvl-4-sweentess)

Finish: peppery, hop oil citrusy tang, dark chocolate, lingering off-dry deep roast bitterly hopped

Summary: Lots going on here with citrus bitter hops, deep bittersweet roasted malts, creamy tingly smooth mouthfeel, and lots of length and good depth. Overall well constructed.

Another good one from dead frog. Black color with some chocolate and pine notes. Taste is hoppy with a lot of dark roast. Very well balanced

Draft - Lots of dark roast. Jet brown with a beige rich head. Dark roast and light leafy hop. Not enough hop to compete with roast .
