On tap. Must either be very old or very unpopular (or both) as it is very much on sale "until the keg is done" they say. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thin off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is citrus and stale beer. Flavor is decent, again plenty of citrus, pretty good malt, IPA-ish, but leaves me with that "a little too much of this, not quite enough of that" feeling. Finishes with mild bitterness and a decent aftertaste. Not bad and just a little weird.

341 ml bottle from Co-Op Liquor Store, served in a nonic pint. Pours a hazy orangey-light amber with a collar of faint tan head that leaves fine lace behind. (The appearance may be muddied since the bottle was too cold when opened and gushed out some of its contents.) Aroma presents almost like an IPA with much strong orangey and grapefruity citrus and herbal hops and a smattering of pine, with biscuity cereals and grassiness; flavor has both the citrus and malts showing powerfully but pleasantly, balancing sweetness and astringency well. Slightly thick and velvety with a brief lingering finish. I’d relabel this as a "Vienna Session Ale", as the pale ale hoppiness isn’t what I’d expect in a darker lager, but there’s more than enough of the style’s maltiness to go around. Mixed-up, but enjoyable nevertheless.

It's a little dead to me, it's like malty and roasty, but not in a great way you know? I like it enough to rate it, maybe I overreacted, well,

Bottle sample @ Calgary International Beerfest 2014. Medium golden brown, bready caramel malts with a soft hoppy finish. Good for what it is.

Bottle. Caramel-coloured pour with a light beige head. Aroma is lightly hoppy with a bit of citrus, biscuit and coppery notes. Flavour is kind of metallic with some nice bitterness coming through. Has some ESB characteristics to the flavour. Very smooth yet fairly full bodied for a lager, although the flavour isn't great. Mixed feelings about this one.
