Citrus pine aroma in a golden pour. Hop forward balance and big fruity body with sustained bitter finish. An excellent brew that goes down way too easily! mcberko (18956) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 3, 2016
330mL bottle, pours an opaque deep dark orange amber with a small beige head. Aroma is very earthy and malty, with lots of toasted caramel malt, earthy notes, and some piney hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of caramel malt, lots of earth and light piney hops. Unbalanced and messy; not harmonious at all. Over-malted and under-hopped. Not terrible, but not very impressive. highlandlad (1480) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - MAY 13, 2016
Mildly disappointing Aussie double IPA. Might be a batch issue? This sample (BB: Nov 2016) seemed a bit dull and faded. I wouldn’t pick it as 113 IBUs. Pours a turbid peach with a negligible head. Big ripe tropical aromas like sniffing a jam factory. All the usual suspects: mango, passionfruit, grapefruit and a decent whiff of bready malts. Slightly lifeless mouthfeel - wonder if this has suffered a bit in the bottle? Age-wise, it should be okay, but I’m guessing it has lost some of its original vavoom. I’m still giving it a reasonable score because I love the style but I expected more, considering the consistent quality of this brewer’s output. (340ml bottle from Leura Cellars. Bottle - pours gold with a nice lacy head. Masses of tropical fruit, bit of pine and caramel. Bitterness comes right through, bit of fruit in there, dry lingering finish. Palate is creamy, soft carbonation. Muggus69 (2723) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - SEP 5, 2015
330mL bottle from Slowbeer. BB 12 NOV 2015
Deep orange gold body, slight haze, small white head.
Heady aroma of big citrus, pine, spicy, resiny, woody hops. Stacks of caramel malts underneath.
Carbonation is restrained, body is rich, quite sweet, syrupy, sticky with hop resin.
Stacks of hops on the body - citrus rind, grass, pine resin, unripe guava and tropical fruits, honeydew melon, lots of rich caramel and biscuit malts provide a big sweetness before being quenched by a relentless linger hop bitterness.

Pours amber with a large head.
Nose shows pine, resinous hops, lychee and massive sweet clean malt.
Flavours include lots of tropical fruit and fruit confectionery along with heap more of the crystal malt and some booze. Shark_Pants (765) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 16, 2015
330ml bottle from Barny’s. Cloudy orange with small head that very quickly recedes to a film. Nose is full of tropical fruits, particularly mango, papaya/paw paw and passionfruit. Taste has similar flavours plus grapefruit and tangerine and is sweet to begin with but transitions to a nice crisp hop bitterness. Booze is quite noticeable. Medium body helps the sweetness avoid becoming too cloying, as can be the case with some DIPAs. Pretty good effort. ShaneJ (910) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 1, 2015
Bottle from Plonk (May 2014). Slightly hazy mid-amber, minimal off-white head, massive fruity aroma, peach, pineapple, apricot, passionfruit, quite sweet but piney/citrusy hops dominate the sweetness, medium body, slick texture, sticky, resiney bitter finish. Nice. redknob (36) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 28, 2014
Fruity, hoppy, yet unremarkable. Sweetness seems to hide the bitterness and ends up tasting like Juicy Fruit gum. bmeup (680) - Ormeau, AUSTRALIA - SEP 4, 2014
Big time hop bomb that actually works and is very drinkable. Tropical fruit bowl if you like, i do!
