25cL bottle. Fairly simple blond beer lacking complexity. Nice and refreshing to drink but nothing fantastic. Appearance, aroma, flavor and finish were okay but lacked any strong/unique character.

Bottle @ Schraevenakker, Oostvleteren. Cleary blond colour, white foam. Too much carbonation. Some metallic notes. Bitter, almost no sweetness. Dry, unbalanced. Meh

Alengrin (5884) - BELGIUM - JUL 24, 2014
The light version of Antiek Blond, primarily targeted to export. Irregular, off-white head on a light golden blonde beer, almost ’pils’-coloured, bright with medium sparkling, however becoming equally cloudy after addition of the ’fond’, as is to be expected in a bottle-fermented ale. The nose gets a lot of freshly cut apples and pears, next to more subtle impressions of freshly grated ginger, sour cream, iron, wild flowers, vanilla, spring onions and grassy hops, but after adding the yeast deposit more sweetness, as in pineapple and honey. Taste begins with a subdued fruitiness, strong carbonation, pilsener malts, a bit bready with a sourish hint (probably a mild form of infection), mineral-like, in the end grassy hops, bitterish; not too well-balanced but thirst-quenching nevertheless.
