Bottle shared at Cotteridge wines, Cotteridge Convention III 20/05/2017. Many thanks! A hazed nut brown coloured pour with a loose dark tan head. Aroma is vanilla, oak, hot alcohol and green apple. Flavour is composed of semi sweet malts, woody roast, jammy fruits, belgian yeast, oak tannin and a litte grape. Palate is medium sweet, highish carbonation, wood tannin.

Cotteridge Convention III – May 2017 - Bottle share at the damp marquee tasting. Big thanks to Cloin for bringing this. As ’Deep Ellum Cabernet Barrel Aged Four Swords’, 10.5%. Hazy brown with a foamy light brown head that leaves light lacing. Aroma is bready, Danish pastries, apple, spicy. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is bready and spicy, woody, lightly tannic red wine with a sugary linger. Nice. (7-4-7-4-15=3.7)

Another beer I tried at the 3rd Cotteridge Tasting on 20th May 2017. Cheers Colin (Theydon what’s it) for this bottle. How the hell has this got into the top 50 Abt/Quad list? Murky brown/amber body, beige topping. Way too sweet, even for my sweet tooth, jammy (red fruits) nose and taste. Could not get past the sweetness to find any aging or barreling notes.

Deep brown with a khaki head. Nose is wood, wine and dried fruit. Yeast up front, heavy florals, yeast and alcohol for flavor. Very well done.

Bottle at Cotteridge Convention 2017. It pours cloudy deep red - brown with medium light tan head. The aroma is soft, sweet, juicy, tangy fruit, vinous, vanilla, oak, fruit compote and toasted brioche. The taste is sweet, juicy, jammy, bread, toffee/caramel, grape, fruit compote, Victoria sponge, wood, leather and tannin with some spice on the finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Enjoyable wine character to it. Fun stuff.

Tried at the cotteridge bottle share 2017. My notes are a touch thin on this one... but. Amber colour with an off white head. The aroma is sweet malts. taste mainly sweet with a longer sweet finish.
