Our year round ode to the Pacific Northwest hop. At DEBC, we like hops, but we like American hops most of all. Here we use some of our absolute favorites. However, they might not be used like you may expect, by using varieties with high alpha acid contents (which means more potential for bitterness) and using them in ways to emphasize the flavor and aroma we can render a rather bitter ale with over the top tropical fruit, citrus, pine, floral, and more hop derived aroma and flavor. Style: American-style India Pale Ale Hops: Citra, Amarillo, Chinook, Palisade, and Summit Malts: Pale Ale, Vienna, Honey, and White Wheat Yeast: English Ale

Poured from a can. Beautiful color with a forthy white head that sticks around. My only real complaint with this beer is in the aroma department, could use a little kick there. Taste is bitter, but not over powering. Very tasty, easy drinking IPA, can see myself buying this often to be honest.

Thanks to crajun for sending this one in trade! Can Slightly hazy amber pour smallish off-white head. Hop aroma of pine resin and citrus. The flavor has a big malt presence. Sweetness that comes through a generous amount of hops.. There are a few breweries out there that would sell this as their IIPA.

Pours a clear copper-golden color with a sudsy, off white head. Pine and citrus nose. Pliny the Elder-like bouquet. Powdery crispness to the texture. A bit of cannabis-like umami underlies and provides structure to the pine/grapefruit hop flavors. The perfect balance of sweetness from the malt efficiently does its job without interference at any point during the process. Excellent effort.

On tap at the brewery on Halloween. I dont get a lot of the tropical notes that the tasting description seems to indicate, but it is certainly hoppy. Smooth and drinkable, but slightly boozy considering the low-ish ABV.

Can. Pours a hazy reddish orange color with a foamy head response. Aroma is very hoppy, citrus, resin, tree sap and lots of sweetness. Flavor is also a nice hoppy mixture. Good citrus flavor and hop resin. Finishes very flavorful. One of my favorites from DEBC. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of piney citrus hops. Very good IPA look. Taste is well balanced, a little on the malty side w a touch of Munich(?). Clean but somewhat heavy finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slightly hazy bright copper with a thin foamy white head. Nose is rich with dank resinous NW hops, rich ruby grapefruit, and amazing amounts of caramel. Flavor has much in the way of floral and grapefruity dankness, but the bitterness is restrained enough to enjoy it easily, and it helps that its citrusy/caramelly sweet. Full and balanced and lovely.

Large, off white head with good retention and lacing. Hazy, copper/orange color. Nose of pine and light citrus, little floral maybe. Medium bodied, sorta fizzy carbonation with a certain, tang? i cant really describe.Weird, citrus flavors, spicy, hint of pine and earth, lil pee? Dry finish, tame bite.12oz can from fiveacestx. Thanks man!

Poured a half-inch foamy head. Burnt orange (it is a Texas beer, after all). Faint citrus and orange nose, with a touch of hops. Those same things carry over to taste, with a bit of pine. Nothing big at all, certainly not like the hoppy IPAs I usually enjoy. Extremely well-balanced. I liked this one a lot.

On draft at Brewed. Yellowish-copper color. Citrus and pine nose. From there it gets unusual... starts fizzy, moves thru some pine and citrus hops and finishes with acute tartness that stays in the mouth. And then maybe even more fizzy. Quite unusual. Also, fizzy.
