Murky brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is nutty, toffee, and sweet. Taste is very sweet and syrupy. Alcohol is concealed. Flat and sticky on the palate. Took a while to finish the glass.

Sample at Hay Merchant in Houston. Reddish-brown color with a medium light beige head that dissipates steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Smells of caramel, oak and malt. Medium to full body with a slightly syrupy mouthfeel and flavors of caramel malt, floral hops and a touch of honey. The finish is sweet with a lingering caramel aftertaste. Above average overall.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a dark ruby with large creamy beige head that lasts awhile leavin sticky lacing. The aroma is a bready malt and caramel. Thin mouth with rich caramel malt with nice sweet finish. Easy to drink a very good doppelbock from Deep Elllum.
