Sample at Hay Merchant in Houston. Reddish-brown color with a medium light beige head that dissipates steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Smells of caramel, oak and malt. Medium to full body with a slightly syrupy mouthfeel and flavors of caramel malt, floral hops and a touch of honey. The finish is sweet with a lingering caramel aftertaste. Above average overall. bu11zeye (13288) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - APR 17, 2013
(Draught) Pours a dark brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of paint, dark fruit, honey, and caramel. Flavor of raisins, berries, honey, and caramel. thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 19, 2012
(Draught) Cloudy deep brown, syrupy consistency in the glass, medium tan colored head with natural-looking carbonation. Nose of medium toasted oak, wildflowers, fresh cut meadow, honey, sweet, smells absolutely incredible, reminds me of Hill Farmstead (the place and their beers). Taste is exceptionally sweet, oaky, esters, cloying, unfermented residual sugars, feels like the beer was perhaps rushed to market a bit. I think with time, and left to attenuate, it would be REALLY good. As it stands, it’s just too sweet, sticky, and oaky. Carbonation amount is damn near perfect, so it’s a shame the beer isn’t less sweet and oaky. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - NOV 18, 2012

The beer pours a clear medium to dark brown color with a small off-white head. The aroma is very sweet with a good dose of toffee and biscuit malt notes. The flavor is not up to par with the aroma. I get the toffee and biscuit from the aroma, but there is also something off in the flavor. It is a little bit hard to pinpoint exactly what the off flavor is, but it is a little bit metallic and also has some vegetable notes. As I drank more of the beer, the off notes got stronger and stronger and eventually resulted in me pouring the beer our. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. I really wanted this beer to be good, but something was off in this batch. Hopefully if it is brewed again it will be better.
Black pour with a khaki head. Nose is sweet, honey, rich malts, chocolate, good shit. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - NOV 28, 2012
A full brown beer with a red tint. The head is lacy and tan. The aroma is malty and enticing. The flavor is all malt and very good. Its not too sweet. It has a medium bite and tastes sessionable but it can’t be being a doppel. Cavie (4905) - Arlington, Texas, USA - APR 22, 2013
Tap at the Saucer FW. Murky brown-reddish color. Beige color head. Aroma is floral, sour, dark fruit, and malts. Flavor is sour, dark fruit and dry. Floral flavors lead to dry bitter finishings.
