Pours burnt orange with a large white head. Smells of spicy hops and rye spiciness. Taste is mildly bitter and quite spicy. Medium-bodied with a slick, wet texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Deep Ellum Rye Pils finishes with a spicy, floral punch. legion242 (2348) - Richardson, Texas, USA - FEB 19, 2012
Poured clear sunset orange with very little head, but great lace. Clean nose. Very, very spicy from the rye. Yummy. ads135 (4933) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 2, 2013
This is a very good IPA...oh wait, pilsener!? Deep bitterness, a little bit of the lagered smoothness but its undercut by the amount of hops. Can’t tell what the rye does for this. vyvvy (6639) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 16, 2012
Sampled at Schlafly 2012 Repeal Fest.... multiple times. A standout of the fest for me. Pours pale hazy yellow with a small white head. the aroma has pils malt, light spicy hops and some spicy rye. Light crisp body with sharpish carbonation. The flavor starts with pils malt that is clean as you would expect, but then the rye comes in an really dries the beer out. It adds its bit of spice along with the hops that have spicy, grassy and sulfur traits. Very dry finish. Really liked this one a lot. deyholla (12038) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 26, 2013
Can thanks to Sarah! Pours a clear deep gold with a white head that dissipates slowly and laces. Aroma has a crisp lager yeast with supporting rye and a nice grass backing. Flavor starts with rye and grass and has a nice crispness in the finish.

Sharp crisp bitter rye flavor. Smells good too. Down the old hatch quite quickly. Nice beer and very drinkable. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 22, 2014
Pours a nice orange color with white head. Spice, floral notes, and some toasted malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Very flavorful for a pilsener and for one that is under 5%. SphinxTX (2875) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - FEB 14, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 4, 2012 On Tap. Pours clear gold with creamy, fluffy head. Aroma is grainy, hints of rye and grass, nice floral. Flavor is much the same, nice notes of rye with a very nice light hoppy profile and subtle bitter, very faint butter notes. Light-medium mouthfeel with medium-high carbonation. Tasty brew!!!! Draft at hay merchant, Houston. Solid session brew, lots of hoppiness in a little brew. Good stuff with full flavor. WolfnArmour (3) - Texas, USA - JUN 8, 2012 does not count
Smooth, crisp taste. Light after taste. Good summer drink. I could see me drinking this in the summer.
