BeerandBlues2 (13304) - Escondido, California, USA - OCT 26, 2013
Tap at the brewery. Pours clear amber with a small, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is toast and cookie malt, dates, earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness, a clean lager character and a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.

DiarmaidBHK (4891) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 6, 2013
Draft at brewery. Pours brown with a thin khaki head. Not much on the nose. A slight copper quality on the tongue. Finishes clean. Hey at least it’s better than Bud.

Tonkun (1296) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 25, 2012
Tap. Copper pour with some head that retained a lacing around the glass. Caramel, nuts, spice and some soil. Easy to drink and my favorite first drink at Defiant brewery.

Draft. Amber color. A little skunky in my opinion. Not sure what's going on here ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

sic1314 (4775) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - AUG 28, 2012
on tap in the Mexicali. Not exactly the nicest looking beer I’ve ever seen, murky as it’s name with a small scummy head. Aroma of wheat, yeast and malt. Taste is malt and a dry biscuit and caramel.

jredmond (8284) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 24, 2012
Draft with Linh at little town NYC. Pours a deep. Town boy with no head, thin white ring of lacing. Aroma is nutty, sweet caramel malts and a light roast. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with carbonation and notes of light roasted nuts, spice and earth.

Slipstream (2625) - USA - MAY 17, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 11, 2014 On tap at the Mason Jar, where it was called Defiant Dark Lager, and also at Characters in 2014. A very drinkable brew, well balanced with some malty sweetness. Sweet aroma and a bit yeasty too. Pretty good - it went well with a barbeque dinner.

2.8
BiddleBrau (1221) - Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 3, 2012
Amber with thin head but lacing still left on the side of the glass. Hint of toasty malt nose. Crisp flavor, a bit dry (hop flavor). A bit cloying finish.

hivemind (915) - New York, New York, USA - DEC 28, 2011
Draft poured into a weizen glass at Taproom 307 w Andy, Streets, James. Pours a very dark amber with big, frothy white head that leaves stringy, patchy lacing. Smells like wheat and over-the-top yeast. Tastes beady and dry with a very bready, cakey aftertaste. Kind of putrid. I could probably drink it again, but would not order more than one.
