Draft. Pours a copper toned body with a white head. Has a really odd spiced profile; tyme, wheat, fennel seed, flax seed, and some light herbal and grain warming. Soft light, the spices become a bit over done quickly, but a decent offering, i can see someone really liking this one. Leighton (21092) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2010
Tap at The Long Room, NYC. Pours a dark, almost hazy yellow. Medium, fluffy white head. Aroma of sweet malts, corn, grass. Flavor is earthy, with strong grassy notes and a taste I would describe as raw pumpkin. Not the sweet kind found in pumpkin ales, mind you, but raw pumpkin. And it wasn’t necessesarily bad, either. Very crisp and clean. HighlanderOne (1317) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - JAN 24, 2010
Poured from growler filled at Defiant brewery. Aroma - smells just like the brewery - sweet bread and hop. Clear golden, thin white head. Malt is noticed at first, with the hops lingering in the aftertaste. Clean and crisp feel. An enjoyable pils, would be excellent if it had a little more more hop bite to it. puzzl (3258) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 25, 2009
Tap at Barcade. Corny, cheesy, trashy, very unappealing aroma. Crisp, cheesy, basic "beer" flavor, like a bad corporate lager. A disappointment, and not at all a pilsener to me. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 21, 2009
Tap at Barcade. The beer is very pale and straw-coloured. The nose is great. Really fresh and bright with a lot of bright fresh hoppiness. Quite zesty with a nice fresh floral character. Lots of bright lemony/citrusy character and a lot of soft spice. The malts are quite lean with a bready/crackery character. There is a lot of freshness and it is a really lovely pils.

Tap at Barcade: Hazy light golden with a white ring of head. Dry crackery pils aroma- dry and spicy with a light herbal saaz presence. Nice! Fluffy/spicy palate. Clean and very dry flavor with a crackery pils base. Has a nice minerally dryness. Lots of spicy noble hops (saaz/tetnang?) Nice! beerbill (3616) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 28, 2009
Growler filled at Shoreline Beverage and consumed later on the same day. Pours a clear gold with a moderate white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma that is a combination of yeast, grain and black pepper. The flavor is similar with yeast, grain and black pepper plus just a bit of cracker. Dries out just a bit towards the finish with mild-moderate bitterness. This is a nice, solid, pilsner. notalush (5867) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 7, 2009
Growler fill from Bierkraft - very hazy gold, with a thick, soapy film around the glass - somewhat lemony aroma, with slight herbal character, light wheat, bread - creamy on the palate - the flavor fails to make an impression at first, leaving nothing of much substance lingering after the first few sips - however, you start to realize that that is partly the point here - this is supposed to be a smooth, easy drinking beer - and as you get into it, you notice some bread yeast notes, dry, crackery, wheaty qualities, and crisp, dry, lightly peppery bitterness, especially on the back end - but none of these characteristics jump out at you - they never get in the way of the smooth, refreshing nature of the beer - quite a pleasure to drink, really - I’ve had my issues with Defiant, but I’m glad I tried this beer. Tap at brewery. Cloudy body with small white head. Nose was yeasty. Light mouth feel here, refreshing brew. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - JUN 7, 2007
on tap at Defiant. Hazy golden in appearance. Aroma is pretty nice, wheaty, bready yeast, with some grain and pils malt. Taste is light bodied, with wheat, yeast, bready malts, with a moderately bitter finish. Found this to be an interesting beer.
