deep golden, no head, well-carbonated. extremely malty bready aroma, with maybe some metallic notes. flavor is moderately sweet, with lots of maltiness and turns into a slightly sour finish...body is medium Lubiere (13994) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 4, 2003
Rather bland tasting marzen, with some malts, but little spices. below average. obxdude10 (2347) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 24, 2003
Nice marzen-style beer, good malt profile, decently balanced, amber in color with an average off-white head, pretty decent marzen beer

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2004 this was the only dumper I had at the Great Beers of America Beer fest. Wacky aroma. Light color. Poor fruity flavor. Not very good for a fest, for sure. LordHedgehog (144) - Westminster, Maryland, USA - NOV 2, 2003
I'm going to go against the grain and say I really liked this beer. It had a slight candy aroma, which I found a tad unsettling. The beer itself, however, was well-hopped and and pleasant-tasting with a noticeable but not overpowering sweetness. There was a strong spice aftertaste, more than typical. Overall, a very nice beer.

I am not a huge fan of this type of beer, but this one was pretty good. It was slightly sweet with a malty caramel taste. Color was a cloudy copper color with orange undertones. Mild carbonation with minimal head. I drank this beer at extremely cold temperatures and that may have reduced the flavor slightly, but overall, not a real hearty robust beer. Simple and unobtrusive. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 11, 2003
(draft) Clear light copper with beige head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, caramel, light pumpkin. Taste is herbal, medium sweet, light bitter, light fruity. Light/medium body. JorisPPattyn (10026) - Ursel, BELGIUM - OCT 3, 2003
(draught) Amber, clear, good yellowish creamy head. Very bready and malty nose. Bready again in the taste, malts, corn flakes but balanced by a bitter tinge of hopbitterness, without the hoparoma or aggressive bitterness. Well bodied. Nice, German-true beer. Spot on for "Brotzeit". Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 23, 2003
Tap: Small head that vanishes quickly. Copper/orange color- seemed almost a little too light. Lots of caramunich flavor and aroma, with only sligth bitterness. Overall a nice well rounded beer, but not my favorite oktoberfest by far. I think it is neat that this brewery makes only german styles- I will definately try thier other styles soon. omhper (25258) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 17, 2003
Bottled. Pale amber ith nearly no head. Lightly acidic aroma. Medium dry with clean maltiness. Very neutral. Low bitterness. Not much here...
