Last bottle from Slob Thanks again for a great trade, dude!

Pours a thin orange with minimal head and effervescence. Aroma is a hybrid of wheat and amber malt. Taste is a sour piece of bubble gum with stale malt. Hmmm, not good.

Hazy pale yellow, the head looks like pure foam, white ans lasting. Soft estery nose, fruity. The wheat brings up biscuity and nutty undertones, that offers, once in mouth, an extreme drinkability, dry, yeasty, banana laden and juicy. Kinda crisp body, the carbonation is still generous, biting, accentuating the thin palate. A rather attenuated weizen, with good yeast flavors, but not the body nor malt to be a top example. Of course it may be quite old.

An excellent American take on the Hefeweizen. Cloudy, cider colored with a rich head. Aroma sweet, of clove and a little citrusy. Flavor a mix between a Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen and Hoegaarden, in its clove, cotton candy, and banana flavoring. A real winner, and a summer treat.

desurfer (1302) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - FEB 5, 2005
Pours a cloudy golden with little head. Aroma very zesty and lemony. Flavor is heavy on the lemon, with some hop bitterness as well. Rather one-dimensional, but refreshing.

I work for a German company based in Bavaria, this beer ranks with the best that I have tasted ther. In fact it is the only US beer that my colleagues will drink on their journeys here.

5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - OCT 8, 2004
Bottle pours a slightly hazy pale yellow, extremely large foamy/rocky white head, sticky lacing, with good carbonation.   Aroma is a lovely wheaty, slightly clovish.   Flavor is quite wheaty, a tad bit sour.   Decent body, but a tad thin in the mouthfeel.   Finishes slightly dry, wheaty, but also kinda quick.   Not bad, but not spectacular either.

Draft. Has a good look and aroma, flavor is nice. Its not too sweet or yeasty, but has both elements. Certainly has the banana flavor in there too. Good summer brew.

VTHopHead (1513) - Seymour, Tennessee, USA - AUG 8, 2004
Bottle - Pours a murky dark yellow in color with a foamy head that quickly disappears. Aroma is of slight clove/banana and mild hops. Falvor is of nutty wheat and slightly sweet with some clove/banana . Finish is short, sweet and spicy (clove) with both some slight hop bitter and a fair amount of yeast sourness.

tbookman (618) - Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 6, 2004
Medium yellow - slightly hazy with a thin head. Cloves, citrus and bananas - a bit sweet - fairly well balanced, not bad.

jsquire (4677) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - JUL 26, 2004
Cloudy banana yellow color with a nice traditional German Hefeweizen banana clove nose with a hint of orange in it. Thin disappearing white head. Doughy yeast, citrus crispness, some spice, and the orange juice follows through from the aroma. Seems a little watery. A great summer refresher, but not a really a great Hefe.
