Dark brown color with a thin head. Roasty malt aroma. Burnt coffee taste. Watered down. This was pretty disappointing. robertsreality (2460) - Minnesota, USA - APR 17, 2005
Dark Brown Coloring with Light Tan Head. Dusty Malt Aroma. Dry Malt and Some Hops ...Pretty Watery and Uneventful...Creamy Mouthfeel. Syd (921) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 26, 2004
On tap at the brewery 11/26/2004 Delafield Brewhaus Pewaukee Porter has an appearance of darkness with a decent head and sheets of lace. The aroma is sweet and roasted. The flavor is very roasted, coffee, dark chocolate and nice hops. The palate is rich and smooth. Overall, very nice. drywallman (367) - Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA - SEP 20, 2004
At Delafield: Slightly red in the light, otherwise brown. Had a little smokiness, but also an amount of chocolate flavors I would associate with a stout. The hops were of a nice straight bitter nature. It had a fairly dry finish. I like it. JoeM500 (1909) - Crown Point, Indiana, USA - SEP 12, 2004
Tap at brewpub: Ruby red tint around the edges of a dark flat brown beer. Peaty and chocolatey nose. Malts are HUGE here, much more than your average brewpub porter. Body is rich and thick. Notes here reflect that this may be a beer that is being reworked, my sample (August 2004) seemed rich and full of great chocolatey and peaty malt flavors. Finish was chalky and dry, some bitterness included. this is a fine porter.

Dusty looking dark brown with some red tints. Lasting off-white creamy head. Smoked hop aroma. Big hop taste in this beer. Piney... creamy... citrusy.... with a sweet coffee finish. DavidP (1748) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 17, 2003
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2004 Very dark brown body with a creamy off-white head that leaves a solid sheet of lacing. Dry coffee roast aroma with dandelion hop backing. The flavor is quite hoppy for a brewpub beer. The roast background was expected but the strong dandelion/grassy hops make this something different. Medicinal quality to the finish. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 2, 2003
Ruby black body with medium tan head. Aroma is light smoked, malty, hint of caramel. Taste is lightly smoked, minimally sweet, finishing earthy bitter. Medium/full body. JPDIPSO (6286) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAY 16, 2003
Dark orange/brown color with a creamy off white head. Dark malt and cocoa aroma. Black malt flavors with a real british hops infusion. Light dry and slightly smokey finish. CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAY 7, 2003
Dark brown with a white lacey head. Light roasted aroma and flavor. Smooth, but a little thin for a porter.
