On tap at the brewery 11/26/2004 Delafield Brewhaus Pewaukee Porter has an appearance of darkness with a decent head and sheets of lace. The aroma is sweet and roasted. The flavor is very roasted, coffee, dark chocolate and nice hops. The palate is rich and smooth. Overall, very nice. JCapriotti (1379) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 8, 2004
Dusty looking dark brown with some red tints. Lasting off-white creamy head. Smoked hop aroma. Big hop taste in this beer. Piney... creamy... citrusy.... with a sweet coffee finish. prosqtor (408) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 17, 2007
Rated from memory. Roasted malt smell and flavor; dark color and medium to thin body. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 31, 2007
On tap at Delafield Brewhaus. Poured very deep brown with a 2" creamy tan head.. good lookin’ beer! The aroma picked up toasted nutty notes, chocolate, and coffee.. quite dry and sweet overall. The flavor had dry sweeter chocolates, a little molasses, and dark fruits.. a dry-roasted coffee bitterness worked well in accenting the edges.. the tasty finish was quite bitter. Grainy on the palate with the body on the lighter side.. could’ve used a bit more carbonation.. kind of fell off the finish. Very solid overall. ubamartian (155) - Watertown, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 4, 2008
Growler from jkugel. Pours a dark brown with a hint of red. Nice two finger head. Decent lacing. Aroma light, bit of spicey hops and a bit of chocolate. Flavor decent chocolate with a god spicey hop. Mouthfeel light and smooth dry. Finishes with a bit of a hoppy flavor and some alcohol. A decent example of a porter.

Tap at the brewhouse. Very dark brown pour with an off-white head. Roasted coffee and chocolate malt on the nose. Silky smooth body. Bakers chocolate and roast on taste - delicious. JoeM500 (1908) - Crown Point, Indiana, USA - SEP 12, 2004
Tap at brewpub: Ruby red tint around the edges of a dark flat brown beer. Peaty and chocolatey nose. Malts are HUGE here, much more than your average brewpub porter. Body is rich and thick. Notes here reflect that this may be a beer that is being reworked, my sample (August 2004) seemed rich and full of great chocolatey and peaty malt flavors. Finish was chalky and dry, some bitterness included. this is a fine porter. StewardofGondor (1934) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 23, 2005
Dark brown with a thin, creamy gray head. Aroma is rich milk chocolate, nearing dark chocolate. Flavor is cocoa powder and dark chocolate shavings. This porter is all about chocolate and nearly nothing else. Full-bodied and creamy. Everything is modestly balanced. Finish is chocolate chips. A decent porter. Hope you like chocolate. Brown with medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, sweet malts and chocolate. Taste is more of the same a little dry, decent but not out of this world porter.
