Bottle thx to benzai. Amber to ruby colour, decent off-white head. Smells caramel, brown sugar, sweet, cinnamon, herbs and spices. Tastes ’pepernoten’, brown sugar, cinnamon, hwrbs and spices, sweet, caramel. Don’t like this. Medium body, soft carbo. erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - SEP 26, 2012
Mostly filtered brown body with red glow and a thin frothy tan head. Cookie spices, sweet rye bread, old hops. Fairly bitter, spicy body with malty sweetness to sort of balance. A heat stays there from the spices, which is the reason I never really like gruit-based beers. This isn’t going to change my mind, although the darker malts make it better than this brewer’s Gruyt Bier. Slightly better as it warms up, too. Clear amber beer, thick creamy head. Soft palate. Sweetish wheat malt. Froth and creamy. Subtle fruit and spice flavours, not easy to pin down. Finished soft with more lightly spiced wheaty malt.
Candy sugar sweet, little too much for my taste. Typical Kuyt beer in the old-fashioned sweetness. Some metal and apple. Interesting but not my favorite. MMiddel (42) - NETHERLANDS - APR 15, 2011
Quite bitter taste, like an IRS, but the overall taste is rather sweet. the beer is dark brown with an light brown head. alcohol is present in the taste, but not overwhelming. It has a long aftertaste. The fruity taste makes it a nice beer!

33cl beer shared at a beer tasting.
A little head. Amber colour. A different beer. Nice. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - DEC 25, 2010
Bottle @ home. Aroma has malt, yeast, spices and a touch of infection. Not very interesting. Flavour is malty with spice and faint hops. Luckily no noticeable infection here, but it is rather boring. Liked the Muselaere way better. Fin (10900) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 2, 2010
Had this at the wonderfully named Locus Publicus, Delft, Netherlands, 23-06-10 Pours chestnut brown with a light beige head and hazy apearance. There is some light maltiness, its a touch chewy, its malty, soft in mouth, not the best of the bunch but agreeable and absolutely fine and a good beer to get me ready for the England versus Slovenia game. Dark brown-amber color, small steady off-white head. A bit spicey (clove), nutty, yeasty, cellary and caramelly nose. Nutty, caramelly, a bit alcoholic, hoppy bitterness, caramel maltyness. Reasonably drinkable, very Dutch, but it has a lot of everything.
Bottled (thanks jbrus!). Deep rubyish amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is fruits, some toffee, caramel malts and some slight notes of alcohol. Flavour is fruits, alcohol, some mild notes of caramel and mild herbal and spicy notes. Stinging sweet alcohol along with some slight sugary notes in the aftertaste.
