COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Bottled. Dark and cloudy with a long lasting head. Aroma is yeastish, flavor is very fruity. Very carbonated too.

Draught at Delirium Caf, Brussels - came very dark, cloudy brown with a thick tan head on top. Aroma very sweetly malty and yeasty, brown sugar, dark fruit. Flavour is of cherries and other fruit along with typical Belgian yeastiness and a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Fairly typical and not mind blowing...flavour is a little bit mild and simple overall. Not as great as the more popular Delirium Tremens.

Bottle: Deep cloudy burgundy pour, with visible floaties, and a dense tan head. Sweet Belgian malt aroma. Has some brown sugar, fig and raisin hints, and is also somewhat boozy. Creamy carbonation. Roasted flavors upfront, followed by an apparent boozy/alcohol flavor. Theres some faint sweet fruits, with brown sugar and more roast & alcohol toward the finish. A straight forward and simple Belgian Strong Ale.

Bottle. Large thick and beige head that mostly lasted. Excellent lacework. Cloudy amber color. Aroma of yeast, mix of fruit with apricot as the dominant note. Light citrus and some caramel and pilsner malt in top of that. Over the palate light toasted malt and warming alcoholic feel. Medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor with light acidic and a sharp bitter feel, maybe from the alcohol. Sweet and fruity warming finish with a lingering end.

33cl bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with auburn highlights and a medium-sized tan head - leaves lots of lace on the glass. The aroma is strong with alcohol along with caramel and soft fruit. The aroma also has a hint of corn-syrup-sweetened chocolate (like a Tootsie Roll). The flavor starts dry and peppery with waves of dry cocoa and toffee slowly rolling in. The middle of the tongue tastes a bit astringent with alcohol - peppery bitter hops combined with caramel and malts. The finish is dry and strong with some more cocoa. The mouthfeel is lively and highly carbonated - and also quite light in body for the strength. Overall, interesting and decent, but not awesome.

I picked this up because there was some article attached to it in the store calling it the best beer in the world. Not the best, but one of my more favorite beligians.

Dark brown with a creamy white lasting head. Nuts, malts & dried fruits. Good mouthfeel. Very pleasant. Perhaps a commercialized beer, but quite nice!

Bottle. Pours deep red-brown color, with a creamy thick, off white head. Leaves good lacing. Aromas of Cherry and Yeast, along with malts and plums to create a very good complex fragrance. The first sip is first cheery and dark fruits, followed by the yeasts and malts to combine into an almost cherry muffin flavor. The feeling is smooth, not too bubbly. The finish is dry, with a lingering cherry and yeast. Delicious. I will be stocking this one.

bottle at Taco Mac. A decent belgian strong... pours a brown color with average head. aromas of malts and mild fruits. Some carbonation on the palate, however not as strong as I would have liked for this style. The finish is a bit weak on this one and leaves the mouth wanting a bit more. Medium in body and a nice overall flavor. Im glad I tried this beer, however I dont believe it lives up to the hype and intriguing packaging.

Brown in color with a tan head. Sweet and roasty(?). Some chocolat and dark stone fruits and some very dark caramel.
