COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Een geweldig lekker biertje in een aparte fles. Een zeer smaakvol biertje met een diepe smaak. Veel soorten smaken van donker bruin tot aan ligt fruitig

Sweet tasting, nice aroma. Not as heavy as most belgian style beers. Very nice flavor, light but good hops and good maltiness.

Very nice. Hints of caramel and plums. Some chocolate. Head fades after a few minutes. Had on roof of the Citadel hostel in Jerusalem. Nice

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2014 Poured a dark caramel colour with a thick head that sadly subsided in under a few minutes. The aroma was sweet and inticesing with a smooth taste to follow. One of the best Belgians I have had the pleasure to taste. Strongly suggest drinking from a Belgian tulip or Brandy glass to focus on the head?s notes and mix the volatiles.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2017 Ruby dark and lightly murky with yellowish tan top. Dark fruits, caramel pepper chocolate, syrupy, herbal, Belgian yeast. Noticeable alcohol. Fresh with average to high carbonation. A kind of winter beer. Full body. Glory of Belgium.

A friend advised me to get this at their café, and I’m glad I followed the advice. This beer is strong but not strident or aggressive. Like an older man with his life sorted out whose company you would enjoy.

There’s a lot going on in this beer; so much so that it’s not something I’d advise indulging in frequently. With that being said, it is among the most pleasant beers I’ve ever had the pleasure of sipping and enjoying slowly. Very dark roasted flavors are well balanced with the sweetness and background booziness.
