400th Rating! :D - One of the best beers of the year, something I have been looking forward to drinking since I brought some back from Belgium. Such a complex and delightful beer to drink; epic dark fruit flavours unfold with a sherry / fortified wine feel and alcoholic bite. Insane carbonation which made pouring a bit of a laugh but it meant that the head (and also the mouthfeel) remained consistent over the long sipping period (not long enough!). Brilliant stuff. vinivini (3148) - Gomel, BELARUS - DEC 31, 2017
Bottle. Almost clear amber pour. Tall off-white head. Very good retention. Aroma: sweet candy, caramel, banana, spices, yeast. Medium plus body. Light sweet taste. Caramel, candy, banana, dried fruit, spices. Decently hopped. Some harsher alco on ending along with light hop bitterness. Still good. cgil68 (50) - - DEC 31, 2017
1 pint 9 oz bottle pour at home into a tulip glass. Tan head that throws off a yeasty spicy fruity aroma. Rich mahogany color nicely effervescent. Fruity with a palate cleansing bubble that finishes with some spicy hop bitter.

in a large snifter. this is a model 2017 Noel.
Appearance: pours amber/brown with a frothy tan head that extends up about 2". unfortunately it dissipates to about 1/8" rather quickly. the beer is opaque (can still see partially into it but not across the glass). minimal lacing was observed.
Aroma: Sweet dark fruits (plums, figs, dates, etc.) and estery Belgian yeast. Candy and caramel with holiday spices.
Taste: lots of sweetness from malts and candy sugar combining with caramel and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Dark fruit flavors are more subdued here. Bitterness balances well.
Palate: medium to full body. rich and creamy texture with very lively carbonation, pronounced astringency. Finishes with a strong boozy warmth that slams the palate hard and lingers.
Overall: a fun and pleasant holiday spiced Belgian. Definitely enjoyable at this time of the year and would probably be even better enjoyed in more wintery conditions. ZacM612 (870) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - DEC 24, 2017
