750ml served in a Prairie teku
A - Pours a cloudy dark brown/amber with a 1 finger off-white head.
S - Brown sugar, figs, dates, banana bread, raisins, faint spiciness, tangy fruit esters, over ripened grapes. Candy malt and orange aroma grows as it warms.
T - Oxidation is the first thing I notice, phenolic mineral/metallic notes, tangy vinous fruit, herbal hop bitterness, orange alcohol, finishes with spicy alcohol.
M - Slow building carbonation goes from creamy to prickly, heavy side of medium body, alcohol on the finish.
The nose was very nice on this but the flavor had some odd stuff going on. Lots of oxidation and the alcohol paired with the herbal notes was not what I would call tasty. This is a one and done for me.

Nice and drinkable, classic belgian beer from this brewery. But now this is just a beer for me... sled14 (38) - - MAY 26, 2017

750-ml caged and corked bottle pours cloudy orange-brown with small off-white head. Aroma: caramel, yeast, sweet spices. Flavor: all of the above with some honey and grapes. Medium- to full-bodied. Marko (5711) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - MAY 24, 2017
How the hell didn’t I rate this. Noted at least 1 Belgian rating missing from where it was before recently, so who knows, maybe this one fell victim to some moron or just bug. Shared with Hrabren, thanks! Slighly hazy dark amber body, enormous off white head. Fresh caramel and wild strawberry aromas, slome bubblegum. Taste... mild fruitiness beaten by all too dry phenolic touches. Strawberry and light peach. Okay, good even perfumey Belgian ale.

Hazy amber colour with white foam. Aromas of sweet cherry, plum and lollipops. Palate, full body with sooth texture leaving sweet finish. Taste, sweet of spice, cinnamon, fruits and light touch of alcohol. Overall, nice cinnamon gum like sweet beer. ALIBALI (2095) - Kiel, GERMANY - APR 28, 2017

Ruddy brown pour with everlasting tan foam. Aroma is malty and semi sweet with some astringent, somewhat sour/metallic notes. Flavor follows very closely. Having just had Rochefort 8 and regularly drinking Chimay Blue, this was a letdown for sure. The pink elephant had done well for me in the past, but not so much with this one. Okay, and drinkable for sure, but expectations were so high. hawthorne00 (3949) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 16, 2017
Bottle. Deep clear red with a very large off white head. Aroma of caramelised bananas, raisins, prunes, mace, aniseed. Full bodied, not terribly syrupy or boozy. Moderate carbonation. Some roasted flavours join the dried and stewed fruit and the finish is drier than expected with moderate bitterness. Licorice and aniseed hang around. Good. msbernac (2617) - Krakow, POLAND - FEB 21, 2017
