The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bottle served in a glass, this ale was a clear yellow gold in the glass and the pour gave a white two to three finger cover of creamy bubbles, the pour started clear and became hazy with particles as I poured towards the bottom of the bottle, it left nice spots and partial rings of lacing on the glass, when first poured, the nose was bready malt with bread sweetness, cake mix and dough, the sweetness appeared to lessen a bit with time, the nose had bread malt, esters that resembled banana, peach and faint pear fruit, some floral notes, light spice notes with pepper in the background, the flavors were light malt and pear fruit, spice and lemon, and some malt sweetness, spice and lemon like hops gave a small bitterness at the finish that left the tongue pretty dry, the mouth feel was light and had a ton of carbonation that bubbled along the tongue, and it was creamy, there was a little alcohol warmth and the alcohol gave some dryness on the mouth, the flavor was not sweet at all but it was sort of simple, this beer could easily be a sneaker of a drink.

Bottle.Gushing! Hazy gold,very thick,creamy but extremely short-lived,white head,lots of lacing. Aroma pepper,Belgian spices,malty,white fruits,peaches,berries,pears,rose petals jam,banana,quite intense and complex. Taste thick,dry,slightly mealy,spicy,a tad sour. Carbonation high,tingling. Bitterness low,fitting. Aftertaste peppery,spices,pears,peaches,white fruits,slight alcohol warming. Very nice.

2016 catch up - Bottle at home - Two words: "yeast" and "carbonation" and this was not a match made in heaven. Both completely overpowered the beer and this is not one that I want to ever drink again. I poured most of it away!

Gryczka minimalna. Alkohol wyczuwalny poprzez lekkie szczypanie w jamie ustnej i rozgrzewanie. Wysycenie wysokie.

Definitivamente, vale a pena experimentar e repetir.

Yellow straw, lightly hazy, soapy white head. Aroma is yeasty, bananas, spice, similar to weizens, but more intense. Taste has sweetness, sourness and bitterness in good balance, honey, fruit, spices and ethers. Body is rather thick, soft, oily texture. Very good.

From old tasting notes. Hazy Amber orange color. Huge rocky white head. Interesting yeasty citrus malt nose. Delicate citrus malt flavor with a subtle complexity. Tantalizing spicy hops balance this complex ale create a dryish dried fruit finish. Very good.
