The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bottle @ Beer Lady. Pours pale yellow, sparkling, with a bubble white head. Aroma is yeasty and fruity with slightly earthy undertones. Taste is smooth, fruity and yeasty. Medium body, a bit thin texture, not very long finish. Good beer, would buy again when looking for a solid Belgian.

0.33 l bottle from Svijet piva, Zagreb. Shared with Vinja 666 and Tanja 669. I had this one back in Brussels in 2007, but never wrote anything. Clear golden, small head. Yeasty, malty, light spicy, alcohol. Dry yeasty and malty. Medium body, high carbonation. Lost its charm.

Hazy gold. High carbonation. Fruity aroma, dominated by yeast. Smells of bubblegum, spices (especially coriander), some light malt. Little hop aroma. Quite spicy flavor, again, yeast dominated with clear additions of coriander. Flavors of bubblegum, green apples, citrus peel. Decently sweet, but the bitterness of the spice character and a bit of hops pushes through it. Long bitter, spicy aftertaste. Slightly out of balance. A good light strong Belgian, but a bit too much spice for me.

Pravo pivo.

Aroma: citrus, apple and faint floral notes. Taste: moderate citrus with faint earthy coriander and spices. Nice cereal malt with mild bitterness. Banana is quite clear, and also bubblegum (many thanks previous reviewer) with other notes that I cannot describe. None of the flavours is too prominent. Such a subtle balance. I do not know the Belgian ales that well, but this is undoubtedly one of the best beers I have ever had.

One of the all-time favorites; stock frequently parties or just for myself. Love the complex taste of this beer specifically the combination of banana and bubblegum that is apparent at the end of the sip.
