The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

(bottle) Golden body with medium white head sustained by a constant stream of bubbles. Sweet fruit (pineapple, lemon/orange peel), alcohol, yeasty, and spicey aroma. Flavor is very sweet with fruit along with yeast.

This is a great beer. Its strong (8.5%ABV) without tasting like mouthwash, and its fruity without being too sweet. Very well-balanced, and should be a good introduction to craft beers for people who are stuck in the commercial swill. I havent found another beer that tastes quite like DT, and Im not sure I will.

Poured a cloudy golden color with a large white head. Had a yeasty type smell. A nice spicy citrus taste which got even better as the beer warmed up.

Tulip glass...sweet and tasty, rich in flavors of candy sugar, pear and banana. Nice color and presentation. Alcohol not noticeable. I like this out of a bottle more than on draft as it seems somewhat flat at times.

Ah, a classic! Aroma is yeasty and mildly sweet. Sweet qualities of apple, grape, and citrus. Flavor is yeasty with some citrus and apple flavors. Moderate mouth feel. Clean finish.

Really should have gotten around to rating this one a long time ago. Classic ale, for a lot of people this is one of the first really good brews they find when they start exploring beer. Needs to be on everyones list, and a pleasure to revisit at any time.

Bottled. Pours a large white head with floaties and cloudy yellow. Light lemon citrus scent with spice notes. Delicious effervescent apple with a great after taste of honey. Almost no hops. A delicious beer, just the right amount of fruity and refreshing.

Bottle: Pours hazy, yellow with small white head. Nose of yeast, sweet malt, and spice (coreander), citrus and banana. A nice flavour of fruit, sweet and some sour. Finishes a little bitter and is warming. Enjoyable.
