Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Woh! Not surprised that they have a non see through bottle! The sediment is amazing (heavy chunky particulate). So much so that I’m still not sure if it was just a bad bottle. Very unusual beer to say the least. The flavour was fine. Light, and very sweet malting (cookie, grain, bread) and floral hopping, with undertones of peach, pineapple and apple. Disuguised the 9% abv well (there was still a prescence, but not as if it were as strong as 9%). Very smooth and balanced. Very interesting to say the least.

On tap at hoppy loft. Clear yellow colour small white head. Nose is apicey yeasty phenols. Light cilantro. Taste is medium phenols low bitterness. Definitve cilantro. Nice, and where else to drink it?

Good blonde beer. Albeit a little high in alcohol. Not sour, not bitter, not sugary. Can’t say spot on because that depends on the human tasting the beer.

midovark (885) - Balassagyarmat, HUNGARY - JUN 15, 2017
Pours deep golden with everlasting head. Decent strong blonde ale, pleasantly fruity enough, but nothing much more than this.

Bottle from Marks and Spencer, Team Valley, Gateshead. A hazy very pale straw coloured beer with a large rocky head of white foam. It has a sweet, floral fruity, honey and soapy flavour followed by earthy citrus and a thin soapy fruity finish. Ok but not great considering the ABV.

TEJA (3019) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 9, 2017
Bottle best before 2009 sampled 20170609. Short off white head. Opaque solid golden color. Sweet caramell aroma and taste. Mild phenolic and light body and bitterness.

Pours golden yellow with white fluffy head. Much like a Duvel but a littlz darker color. Smells of peachesband cream. Bubble gum. Candied fruit. Taste is more bitter and less sweet than the aromas would leadbyou to you think. Overall very much my style of beer. Almost like a triple.

Frothmeister (792) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 7, 2017
330ml bottle. Pours a lightly hazy pale golden hue with a three finger off white head. On the nose candied fruits, sultanas, heavy mineral notes, honey, and cloves. Taste wise, sweet, with sultanas, a light earthy note with an undercurrent of minerality, faint bananas clove, and corn syrupy hard candy that heads into spice, mineral notes, more of the dried fruits, with some metallic bitterness in the finish.

kryspin3 (88) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - JUN 7, 2017
Złociste, zamglone. Obfita, górzysta piana, średnie pęcherzyki. Zostawia lacing. Szybko opada. W aromacie gruszki, jabłka, morele, kwiaty, żelazo, korzenne fenole. W smaku niestety żelaziste. Poza tym jabłko, gruszka, pieprz, słód. Słodkawy, fenolowy i lekko alkoholowy finisz. Wysycenie średnie. Goryczka jest, raczej niska. Rozgrzewające. Zostawia uczucie pieczenia na języku. Byłoby bardzo dobre, gdyby nie ta metaliczność.
