The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bottle. Heavy carbonation, lasting head and a beer that I get excited about when I drink it. A good entry beer into Belgium beers.

Ar: Banana and apricot, very pungent; guava, light grain, and lean floral hops. Ap: Pale gold and clear; very large white head with excellent retention, slowly creeping down leaving an airy matrix of foam and a mostly coating pattern of lace on the glass sides. T: Banana, apricot, peach, and grainy malt up front; rosy, perfume-like alcohol, but quite smooth; some pepper and grains of paradise; a little vanilla and orange peel; bitterness is medium-low and clean, with just a hint of moss and austere dried flowers; banana and peppery bitters on the finish. P: Medium-light body with very high, fine carbonation; dry finish. O: Well-made light-colored Belgian strong ale; lots of esters and a nice spice complexity, coupled with devilishly high drinkability.

Clear golden orange pour with a big meringue like head. Huge aroma of banana, banana candy, caramel malts, yeast, some basement and hints of hops. Low in sweetness, medium bitter and a soft acidic aftertaste. Halfway medium bodied, medium to high carbonation. A classic!!! Still as good as the first time I had this. Must be at least 22 years ago.

Dense, perennial white froath. Golden body, very carbonated. Absence of aroma. Notes of bread, honey and pepper. A little of sweetness too. Licorice. Delicious dry aftertaste that asks for another sip. Awesome beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 0.33l. Cloudy copper pour, two finger frothy off-white head. Good retention. Rich and malty nose, notes of coriander and belgian yeast. Nicely floral. Some bubblegum notes.

Medium body, medium carbonation. Light texture and mouthfeel. Pretty high drinkability for the ABV. Balanced bittersweet taste with warming alcohol presence. Aroma is usual for the style yet perfectly executed. Rich and balanced, layers of good stuff. Belgian yeast, caramel. Slight brown sugar. Strong herbal character, good coriander presence. Bubblegum. Wheat, somewhat fruity. Hop bitterness towards the finish. Slightly dry mouthfeel, subtle alcohol burn on the tongue.

Overall, very tasty brew. Rich and well executed, a fine example of the style.

Fantastyczne piwo. Aromat bardzo ładny, ziołowo-cytrusowy. Gęsta piana i duże wysycenie. Alkohol niemal niewyczuwalny. Minus za dostępność i za wysoką cenę, plus za piękną butelkę. Godne polecenia każdemu.
