Sample bottle @ home thanks to the man himself. Thanks James! Unclear dark brown color with a decent sid off-white to beige head that lasts for a short while. Aroma is malts, lightly dark malts, a bit nutty, caramel and a hint of dark fruits slightly. Well that's quite surprise, didn't expect that at all. Taste malts, caramel, dark fruits lightly, slightly brown candy sugar, slightly nutty in the background and a vague candy-ish sweet hint. Very well balanced actually and quite nice. I really like this! Tastes like the perfect combination between a bockbier and an Abbey Dubbel. Very nice, cheers James! Quite certain this will be my highest rated malt liquor to date! Ruby-auburn with a quickly fizzling ring of beige bubbles. High clarity.
Fruity with a nutty character that is vaguely peanut-like. Lots of semi-dry caramel and toffee mix with a more bready malt character while peanut skin-like notes continue to "dry" the finish and guard against any potential sugary/syrupy malt (which isn’t there anyways). Dark malt adds a cola-like character while some alcohol is present, though not sharp or very bothersome. Kind of just like a lightly roasty amber ale.
Malty, fairly sweet with caramel-toffee and light honey easily balancing dry peanut skin, cola and red fruit esters and low-to-moderate alcohol apparency. Could be a little more dry, but I guess that’s a malt liquor for you. Very high carbonation - on point to style, as well. My biggest issue is that the peanut flavor added mirrors DMS very closely, making it taste vegetal and beany. But then again, it gives it more authentic malt liquor character! Certainly not bad and quite funny, if nothing else.

Pouring at the RBSG17 Grand Tasting. Pours a clear brown with a large tan head that looks rather ugly and slowly falls and settles down. Paper and peanuts on the nose. Like if you had paper roll candy, but instead of those crappy candies stuck to the paper, you had crappy peanuts. Medium bodied, sweet and toasty, roast and a bit of old peanut butter. Toast, roast, peanuts. Slow toast, peanuts and cocoa, long roast. Chocolate, and old dusty nuts. Weird. Doesn’t tastes infected really, but seems like it should be?
