Keg at DHVL. It pours a clean golden color with a medium white head. Aroma is grassy and bitter with notes of grains and melon. Taste is also grassy and grainy with more notes of grass, dried leaves, bitter grains in the finish. Quite astringent bitterness. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, not a favourite

Aroma: Light hops, floral, Light caramel. Light fruity, light sour Appearance: Body: Hazy, golden. Head: Large, white. Low retention. Flavour: High maltiness. Medium-high bitterness. Medium hops, spicy, floral. Salty. Licorice, Dry finish. Lingering hops, bitterness and grassy-ness. Mouthfeel: Medium body. High, creamy carbonation. Light warming. Crisp. Overall: The beers complexity shines as it warms up, but the bitterness is a bit unbalanced. 330 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 16E. Belgian Specialty Ale

Alengrin (4713) - BELGIUM - OCT 12, 2014
House beer of De Heeren Van Liedekercke, formerly made by Kerkom, with Aalsterse hops (a remnant of an all but disappeared hop culture in Eastern Flanders). Rocky, sticky, snow white head, orangey peach blond colour, hazy. Aroma of grapefruit, walnuts, coriander, white pepper, bread, cheese, apple; citrussy onset, nutty and caramelly maltiness, fruity, a bit yeasty, grassy and peppery hop bitterness in the finish, quite long. Not too exciting, especially considering it is made for one of Belgiums best known beer restaurants.
