COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For years local air taxis have ferried mountain climbers to the base camp on the south side of Denali, flown flight seeing tours over “The High One,” and dropped off backpackers and other outdoor enthusiasts in all corners of the Alaska backcountry. Denali Brewing Company draws the inspiration for its red ale from Talkeetna’s rich aviation history. Brewed with five choice American and European malts and just enough hops for balance, we hope you find Single Engine Red a suitable compliment to your next Alaskan adventure, whether in the air or on the ground.

Tap. Pours clear reddish Amber, small off white head, good lacing. Aroma is nutty, caramel, hint of roasty smoke. Flavor is light plus sweet, very light bitterness. Medium body. Ok.

On tap at Dwyer’s, pours a murky dark brown with amber highlights. English caramel and toffee malt aroma. Dry English toffee and caramel malts with drying bitter hops hitting earthy on the finish. Not bad for an amber.

Can on the Wilderness Express to Talkeetna. Amberish pour. Aroma seems a bit citrus. Med body. Hoppy. Lightly malty. Fairly bitter. Tasty for an amber. :)

Not bad. Had on tap at the Grand Denali Lodge. 5.6% ABV. Irish Amber. Probably would not drink two in a row. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Medium red to brown in color with a nice foam. Aroma of biscuits, toast, and some chocolate. Flavor mimics the aroma with no bitterness and a mild aftertaste.

12oz can via trade. Poured a slightly hazed super dark orangey amber with an average sized frothy off white head. Aroma of newspaper, caramel, toffee, old Bit O Honey candy bars. Body is a bit watery in the mouthfeel with stronger carbonation. Flavor is the same as the aroma.

Can at The Hanger on the Wharf in Juneau. Murky amber pour with a small white head. Malt, light citrus, mineral. Okay.

Bottle. Pours a reddish color with white head. Strong caramel, malty aromas and flavors. Straight forward caramel Irish red.

Malt heavy and true to style as an Irish red. A decent beer and a fave of Justin.
