Flavors of rlasted malts, caramel, molasses, grassy hops, prunes. Overall big, bold, refreshing yet strong, creamy and bitter. onceblind (9708) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 15, 2011
Tap @ brewery. Slightly orangish red with a small, tight head that lasts and leaves great lacing. Has an aroma of candy sugar and dark ripe fruits like cherries, honey, raisin, and cereal grain maltiness. Big huge flavor profile of figs, caramel, slight cocoa, raisins, and toasted barley. Very nice and winterfull. cubs (10636) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 2, 2011
Tap @ brewery. $8 for a 10 oz? I could get a Kuhnhenn Bourbon Barrel Barleywine for that price and size. Oh well. Dark maroon appearance with a medium sized, tan head. Really an earthy, organic, light caramel/toffee, fairly interesting nose. Slightly light bodied, moderately boozy, caramel, dark fruity, highly earthy, organic flavor. Not a whole lot going on and the booze is noticeable. Probably will skip this on future visits. notalush (5878) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 30, 2011
Light hazy dark amber - moderately estery nose, with some sticky toffee, spicy hops, some fig and spices - smells pretty dang good, actually - creamy texture - flavor is a bit husky - fairly sweet toffee and caramel up front - medium and finish are moderately estery, semidry, with fairly spicy hops and peppery alcohol heat - somewhat thin for the abv, but some good stuff happening.
